This is certainly doable if you have a tremendous dedication to it. I've known one guy who did this.
However, a 20 year old 4.0 going to 6.5 is not going to be done. Actually, there is probably a better chance if the 20 year old has never played tennis before. Perhaps he is a freak of nature and can pick up the game that quickly (one in millions). If the person is a 4.0 at 20, he is not a freak of nature.
