Hey everyone, I am far from being any type of nutrionist, so here is my question.
Long time ago, they used to say eat up on carbs the night before a match, like pasta, so you will have energy the next day. My question, since it seems as though the trend nowadays is to avoid carbs, is it still a good idea? (I am not really trying to lose weight, tho I could lose a couple lbs) thx! |

Only people influenced by the hocus-pocus of the Atkins diet believe the trend is to avoid carbs.
You need carbs to provide the energy for any type of phyiscal exercise/work. Avoid fatty carbs like fried food. Fatty food is difficult to digest and results in the diversion of a greater amount of blood to the digestive system thus making you possibly sleepy and certainly less alert (Your performance will be worse).

Those nocarb diets are full of it. You put the weight back on once you start eating regularly immediately. The best diet is just eating the right foods in moderation along with exercise.

Saw a guy sitdown to a 6 pack before a Marathon. With that kind of carb-loading, I took up running.
