Always heard she still used an earlier version without Cortex.

Kim's racquets now have Woofer grommets. Originally they did not.....

Kim played with the original Pure Drive (non woofer) all the way up till when she 'retired'. But I believe she switched to the actual GT when she came back.

![]() In the pic below, you can clearly see the second 'headguard' on the side of the racquet... something the last generation did not have. ![]() Last edited by Bud : 12-11-2009 at 09:14 AM. |

Actually, its pretty easy to see its a real cortex... you can see its contours and how the contours of the cortex go within the actual grip circumference, if it was painted onto an older model, it would just be a flat yellow pattern, wouldnt have all the curvessss.

dude, im the biggest hater on here for people looking at a racket from a 1000 miles away and saying thats a pj. look on the shaft, at the bottom of the cortex you can see where it comes out. ive seen and held andy roddicks actual racket and u can tell thats painted on from miles away, this racket she is using has cortex. its not so hard to believe she is using a new racket, she as been out for a few years and might of liked it, they play alot better than last years ones

hard to tell the string pattern is different on the 1st gen ( both are 16x18 but crosses are more spread out on 1st gen) from the latter moddels altough this looks like it could be the real deal a acctuall GT

Looks like the real deal to me. Cortex, woofer grommets. Like mentioned, can't count the string pattern on that one but I don't see any reason to doubt that it is an actual PDGT.

Sorry for the HUGE photo, but its a great example of how fake it does look when they paint on the cortex... Totally flat and unrealistic.

Based on that photo below the racquet definitely has cortex and woofer grommets, which would suggest she has changed from her earlier version of the PD.
Cheers, Orig |
