USO Qualifying Tourney?

Has anyone been to the US Open qualifying tournament the week before the Open? I'm going to be in NYC that week and wonder if it's worth checking out. Some good up and comers in the field last year - Tomic, Dodig, Raonic, Harrison, Nishikori, etc. It is supposedly free admission, but does anyone know if you need tickets or just walk up? Not much info on the web.

Tue-Fri, just walk in.... also swing by Armstrong to see some big boys play
