Default Federer vs Roddick- Basel 2011

Who do you think will win this time around? I've always enjoyed their matches. They are meeting for the 23rd time... :P

Federer in 2.

Will be shocked if Federer wins in 3 or if Roddick wins at all...even though I wish that Roddick could win.

Federer in 3, but I only think it will be 3 because Federer will start hearing Lady Gaga, the shipping forecast, or what he'll be having for dinner in his head when he should be concentrating on holding serve in the second set.

Is it really worth a thread? Even though as a Fed fan I'm rooting for Roddick Fed is going to win pretty easily 6-3 6-3 maybe

I wouldn't exactly say 0.

He has beaten Federer twice in his career, so it is more like

P(Roddick Winning) = 0.01 or 0.001

heyy no one saw Miami 2008 coming did they?

I think Fed will win but I'm mostly excited just to see these two go at it again as their careers both wind down (Roddick's sadly a bit quicker than Rog)

Miami match was in US and outdoors, this time it is a different territory not in Andy's favour.
Have to agree about the second part, the handshakes between older champions (like Hewitt and Fed) get warmer with each passing year. But the matchup is too predictable: Fed is better than Rod in every aspect of the game, apart from serving maybe (it depends on a day).

I hope the "good" Andy R shows up! If he does I'd like to see it go the whole 3 (or is it 5) sets.

Heh. So do I.

I do also think HoodMan has a point; FedError could make a random appearance at any time.

I had the privilege of watching Roger's US Open 4R from a (gifted) courtside box seat, when he had something to galvanize his attention. It continues to boggle my mind that those two personas can co-exist in the same person.
