I know that as tennis players, a lot of us are all about the gear, especially the shoes, but do we have any sock fans such as myself here?! I don't know about everyone else, but I'm a HUGE fan of the Nike Elite socks. Feel free to discuss/post your collections/rare socks here!

I wear the above, Elites and the tennis-specific PE Nikes depending on what I pull out the drawer first. For me, Thorlos get too hot/slippery and other sports socks I've tried aren't thick enough and give me blisters.

The Thorlos level 1s (light cushion) are really good, and they feel less 'slippery' - I use the level 3s much less now

damn! I didn't know Tommy Haas lurked on these boards
As far as the original poster is concerned. A couple of factors I consider when buying socks. First the region where you live. I live in south Texas and 10 months out the year it's warm. 5 months its hot and humid, so I need a fairly thin breathable sock. Also, I'm sure you don't skimp on the strings you put on your stick, why should you get cheap on socks that is an integral part for your shoes and overall performance. I'd rather get 2 pairs of high quality socks then 10 pack of bullcrap from wal-mart. I, personally like the Nike elites, Adidas barricade, thorlos, and gold toes.

Nike BB Elites rule! Great fit (L/R specific works), very cushioned, and never wear out. Worth the extra $$$!

Gold Toe, from Macy's or JC Penney. A 6-pack lasts me about 6 months.

Champion G9 low cut socks from Target. Cushioned enough on the bottom, lighter weave on top, long enough to not slide down on my heel, and not slippery nor does it bunch up. Have some Filas but they tend to slide around in my shoes.

Ever since I tried those Nike Elite basketball socks, I have been buying way too many pairs. They offer great compression and cushioning while not feeling overly stuffy like the Thorlos. In addition, they come in all colors which allows you to mix and match your shoes and outfits.

I use Timberland ankle socks (charcoal and black colour). For everything (not just tennis). And for maybe 5 years now. I have a very obvious tan line
