Default looking wimbeldon tickets

My friend and I are thinking to go to Wimbeldon this year, but it looked like it is a real hassle to get tickets. And different websites offering them at $700-$900 per session. Does anybody know how much would it cost to buy tickets from the scalper?
If anybody has them and trying to make some money please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Advice from someone who's been there regarding getting Wimbledon tickts...

Best way to get any old Centre or Court 1 seats (esp for later in the second week) is to either buy some from overpriced ticket agencies like the ones you've already looked at or look on ****.co.uk nearer the time of the tournament. Like the US Open, the men's semis tickets are typically the most expensive. Procuring tickets this way does not typically guarantee good seats...

The best way to get good seats is to queue overnight. Unfortunately Centre Court tickets are only offered to queuers up to the second Wednesday (men's wuarterfinals). Up to the day 500 seats are reserved fro queuers for both Centre and Court 1. These are good seats - the two times I've done it I've sat in the first few rows. As for queueing overnight, it's fine if the weather's good - a street party atmosphere, lots of junk food available - lots of nice houses to wander and have a look at and wonder if you could ever afford...

Other than that you can just queue on the day and get gorund passes and tickets for the lesser show courts...

The only way to get onto Centre for the last four days is to either win the tickets in teh ballot, or buy them at huge expense - nothing left for the queuers unfortunately...

And FYI, tickets being sold by agencies really are extortionate. This is why the AELTC reserves as many as it can for it's members in the ballot and for those who queue - Centre and Court 1 ticket prices increase during the tournament - they start around 30GBP ($50US) and for the final are around 80GBP ($140US)...

I have been told the same thing re Wimbly tickets. I haven't been yet, and I expect to go one day, but the idea of sleeping out in a tent overnight doesn't thrill me.

Which is why I think the Masters Series events are the best bang for your buck. With a few exceptions (Monte Carlo being one of them), you tend to get the top players there (sometimes they even play doubles), and the price is fairly reasonable. And are downright cheap compared to Wimbledon and even Roland Garros.

And with the Masters events, you can sleep and shower at your hotel, before attending the event each day. Something that I find particularly nice.

Still, Wimbly is Wimbly, and I think it would be nice to experience it, for a day or so. But unlike with many tennis events, we get a fair amount of Wimbly on TV. Which cannot be said of the Masters events.

But I'm going to my first GS event this summer, and I can check this out for myself. I'm looking forward to it. I've been to Roland Garros and Rod Laver arena, but for Davis Cup events. So I'm looking forward to the GS experience.
