Soon its time for the US Open and its hopefully gonna be great! Im staying at a hotel Pennsylvania at Penn station.
Are there any good tennis-shops i must visit when in New York? Are there any tennis-shops at all on Manhattan?

The major ones do online business, so house rules prohibit their mention. Try the sporting goods store at Broadway and 18th street. But you'll likely find more equipment at the Open itself than any of the stores.

Mason's tennis a definite looksee.....the owner Mark is a major character and has been open since the mid 70's (considering the state of tennis retailers thats pretty awesome). Shop is on 53rd between Park and Madison - also NYC Tennis (Grandcentral Tennis) has like 4 shops (the one at the NTC is closed the next few weeks during he USO) - have a huge shop midtown and a cool smaller one in Grand Central Terminal I have used to string stuff when I'm in NYC - very interesting location.
I love checking out different shops when I can whilst traveling.......Mark Mason is for sure interesting to say the least. |

Never mind tennis shops, get yourself to Saritas on E. 12 St. A mac-and-cheese-only restaurant, about a dozen varieties.
