Will any player win 10+ titles in back to back seasons

In 2004, Federer won 11 titles, in 2005, he won 11 titles, and in 2006, he won 12 titles.

In 2011, Novak won 10 titles. This year he has won 3.

Do you think another player can win at least 10 titles in back to back seasons (much less back to back to back) or will Federer be the last?

questions like this are always so open ended. Assuming the ATP doesn't fold and tennis is disbanded as a sport, and assuming the world does not end before the sun burns out in however many million years...

Yes, obviously at some point, maybe 50, maybe 100 years from now, someone will win 20+ titles in two years.

Almost certainly, I'd say.

You only need to go back as far as the '80s to see Lendl won 10 and 15 titles respectively in '81 & '82. He nearly repeated the feat in '85 & '86, winning 11 and 9 titles respectively. Connors did it in '73 & '74, and Borg (I think) did it three years in a row from '77 to '79.

Since the tour has "matured" I think it's become more difficult; there's not so many individual events scattered around the globe any more because there's one unified tour, and the top tournaments now attract all the best players every year. Still, statistically speaking, while Federer's numbers are admirable, they're not completely off the bell-curve the way someone like Don Bradman is in cricket. I'd be surprised if it didn't happen again within the next 20-25 years.
