G.O.A.T.

0-7 in Singles finals. 4 of those matches going to the decider.
recently lost to Monaco in the Bangkok final. Thirty years old and the clock is ticking. Do you think currently he is the best on tour to have not won a title?

Definitely the best not to have won a title. I think he can definitely pull one out in the next year or two, he just needs to keep playing those obscure 250s. Some of them have absolute joke draws.

Yes he can; he is too talented to go winless in his career. Just hang in there and I'm sure he can do it.

I hope he does. I'd feel really sorry for him if he doesn't.

Hmm. Every time I cheer for a French player, he/she always loses. So I can't say anything......

It isnt easy to win tournaments in tennis sometime. Pioline went the longest time not winning one. Kournikova never won one and contrary to popular belief she was a really good player some years when she avoided injuries which did great damage to her career. I believe Tipsarevic has even not yet won one. Benneteau is not as good as any of those players (Kournikova per gender of course I mean) so who knows if he will or not. Sometimes you need a bit of luck.

Benneteau probably won't now. Best chance was Sydney this year.

0-7 in finals - that is sad.
Almost as sad as Murray's 1-5 in Grand Slam finals. |

And why are you dragging Murray into this anyway? What's he got to do with a discussion about Benneteau not yet winning a title?? ![]()

For a long while, he was the highest ranked player without one but he finally broke his duck last year, winning Kuala Lumpur and Moscow and he won Stuttgart this year.

I'm pretty sure he is now the highest ranked player without a title.

His best chance would be on grass, but Queens/Halle always attract a tough draw because there's no other sensible warm for sw19, and if JB plays Newport (which he doesn't do very often?) he has to get through Isner.
I really hope he does but it will have to be next season or never, I"m afraid. |

Hell, the draw for Toronto Masters this year was easier than Halle by miles. |

More likely no, he needed almost whole season to get to another final - after his early Nieminen loss in January, now he had maybe biggest chance ever at indoor court vs clay-courter- the surface was slow, but still Julien should have done better i think.
He is injured and there are just few 250s left in 2012 - honestly he is not getting title at higher than 250 level. So i think this year definitely not. 2013 he will be again older - he wil have chance maybe in January at those events in Australia again, but if not than it will be harder and harder - Europe indoors - there will be a lot of guys , his chances are basically Australia, or ASia - where not so many guys travel - 250s events i am speaking. It will be shame if guy like him ends up with 0 titles, but at this point i will say yes he will end up with 0 tittles. |
