Default 2012 ATP World Tour Finals: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [6] Juan Martin Del Potro

The last time Del Potro beat Djokovic was in 2012 Olympics Bronze Medal match.

Do you guys think Delpotro can beat Djokovic the way he is playing rightnow?

Delpo used all his energy for the Fed match so to answer your question kishnabe...

No.

No, the last time Delpo beat Novak is in the bronze medal playoff.

I'm glad that Novak's draw to the title got a little easier. Had Tipsarevic won, Novak would potentially have to go through Federer AND Murray to get the title (after having already beaten one of them).

Now he only has to face one of them, should he get to the final.

Anyway, I say Novak in 2.

LOL Del Potro is arguable one of the worst returners ever!! And Plus nole is a better returner than fed so straights sets it is

That is a really stupid thing to say. Delpo returns very well for someone his height.

Delpo has match up issues against djokovic, delpo will have to redline his game and so far despite beating fed he has been consistant without being brilliant. If he serves like he has and continues to be predictable in rallys with his cc stuff it will be over in quick time.

His forehand is great!! but djokovics defense is too good and he pushes everything back till delpo hits it out. Delpo isnt that good of a returner so he barely makes a push. Backhand obviously goes to nole so i dont see Delpo winning unless Djokovic's level dips or Delpo brings USO 2009 form and still then maybe ( I could be wrong obviously)

Djokovic wont be able to defend or turn defence into attack dealing with delpos heavy fh as well as he does to murrays or feds.

Delpo should step in taking the ball on, thumping forehands. He knows he can beat djoko its going to be hard to do it playing on a court thats been deliberatly slowed down to suit the top players.

Djoko starts the match with a huge advantage.

Del Potro did not have to be brilliant to beat Federer. Federer did the beating all on his own with his unforced errors and terrible defense. Djokovic will be a whole other ball game for Del Potro.

I don't think it's a matter of "way of playing", it's a matter of surface. (Since the Olympics, Djoko has beaten Delpo in Cincy and USO). On hard, it seems Delpo is a good matchup for Djoko, even though the match could be close. It's also gonna be interesting to see how much confidence Delpo will have derived from his 2 recent wins over Fed.
I can't wait until tomorrow. Both semis should be great. The Djoko/Delpo match at USO was an absolute treat. Can't wait.

Really depends how dP is hitting, but fancy him to take the first before burning out and Nole taking it in 3.

6-4, 5-7, 3-6

This match should be awesome, assuming Del Potro shows up. At the US Open, there were some rallies where if felt the Argentine was massacring the ball (would have been numerous winners against lesser players) but Djokovic returned everything....was some of the most awesome court coverage I've ever seen...can't wait for the match
