Novak made 25 million in only two years from prize money

This just shows how much tennis grew as a sport, and how great seasons Novak had over the past two years.

In 2011 he won 12,619,803$

And in 2012 he won $9,953,737 + 2 000 000 that he'll get next week for finishing as world No1, + 500 000 from US open series bonus prize money, which for some reason they didn't count this year in the official prize money, and all previous years they did = 12 453 737$

So Novak won in only two years 25,073,540$

Andy Roddick won 20 mil$ in 11 years of his pro career!

That's half of Nadals entire 11 year career prize money!

that's no big deal, the prize money increases every year. 20-30 years from now major winners will receive 5 grand for a major.

So prize money is declining pretty significantly then, currently first round losers make several times that, good to be a player now versus 20-30 years then.

Well they wouldn't pay them this much if they didn't get a return on investment but yeah all those whining about too long of a season, tough schedule etc. does seem somewhat laughable given the money they get for playing a game.
