What would be more of a problematic for someone with arm issues
A stiff racquet with soft strings at low tension (40s?) vs An arm friendly racquet with stiff strings at higher tension (50s) |

I don't know if I can answer your question directly, but I switched to an arm friendly racquet (PK 7G), a poly/syn hybrid and learned to loosen my grip on all shots. After a couple of weeks and a few Flexbar exercises later, I love using the PK and have it strung with a full bed of poly at 54lbs. I have zero arm issues. Maybe everyone has to find their own mix?

Both are close enough to equal in my opinion that I always recommend you start with a string change first. If that does not work, then change rackets as well.

I can attest that a armfriendly racket with dead or stiff strings does not feel good at all lol. Hit tonight trying to break the long dead rpm team mains in a exo3 graphite 100...lets just say that I should just cut them out instead...

IMO the racquet is much more important than the strings. An armfriendly racquet with poly or at high tension will be better than a stiff bat with full gut. YMMV but this is my experience.
