Ok...
So Novak Djokovic just got 2 850 000$ for a total of 12,803,737 . Last week it was $9,953,737 . At the end of the season No1 player gets 2 000 000 dollars, if he plays all required masters 1000 tournaments (which Novak did play). http://www.atpworldtour.com/Corporate/Rulebook.aspx Here's a link to atp rulebook for more about that. Also, even if we count 500 000$ from US open series, which Novak got, and they didn't count it in his prize money... so even if we count that thats 2,5 mill . How and why did Novak got 2 850 000 dollars? Last edited by Achilles82 : 11-20-2012 at 03:32 AM. |

Regarding the US Series 500,000, it was counted in his prizemoney. He won 1,450,000 for his USO runner-up, but the runner-up prizemoney was actually 950,000
So, if we add the 2 million at the end of the year, we're still 850K short. Lemme try finding some info. I find it strange as well.

He did won 1,45 mil in US open counting US bonus series, but they didn't count it, up until now I guess. On August 27th Novak had $6,023,741 After US open, on September 10th, he had 6,972,425 So they didn't count US open bonus series. |

Suffice it to say he did well this year. Is the exact amount of that much interest to anyone other than him and his accountant??

Uhm, maybe he also won prize money with his humanitarian award? Or maybe he's been named 'player of the year' by now as well? Or maybe he participated in some doubles events for which he won some money? Or Davis Cup?

This is probably it. It's the only thing that makes a little bit of sense. Quote:

Abu Dhabi is not an ATP event, or ITF, it's an exibition tournament. And btw, for that he won 250k, so even if count that, we are still 100k short. Quote:

i know it's an ITF event and not an ATP one, but as i don't know what source you use for his prize money... maybe it's what he earned with the hopman cup ?

2012 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Singles Prize Money There was a participation Fee of $130,000. Maybe there was a participation fee for Basel and for some other tournaments. Last edited by ctbmar : 11-20-2012 at 08:11 AM. |

Could it maybe have something to do with him not being paid in US dollars at a lot of tournaments? Maybe based on when the figures above were factored in, the exchange rates had changed? Just a thought.
