Default help with yonex rackets

i currently have a RDX 500 midplus 4 3/8 grip which I love. been looking a while for a backup one and just can't find one. As you surely know, this racket was discontinued years ago (can't understand why but whatever...)

which yonex racket that is currently available either used or new is the most similar in specs and feel and such to my beloved RDX 500 mp???

thanks for any and all opinions,

sam

Once again, TW's Racquet Finder to the rescue:
http://racquetfinder.com/?name=rdx+5...onex&x=57&y=21
The above link gets you to your racquet, and right underneath is a button for 'Similar Racquets'. Click that and it takes the frame's specs +/- some tolerances and runs the query. With those results, you can tighten the specs according to what you find more important & rerun the query.

thanks for the reply McLovin,

i've looked on the racquet finder and have played with a few of the ones on the list and they just don't feel anything like my rdx 500.

In fact, I took almost the exact specs from the rdx and plugged them into the finder and the only racquet that came up was the donnay x dual gold 99. Which felt nothing like the yonex when i demoed it.

was hoping someone who has played with the rdx 500 mp and some other yonex sticks could help me pick one that FEELS like my rdx, not just has the same specs. I like yonex and think they make a quality product and look great, and are a little different than the APD's i'm surrounded by

Yes I loved the RDX 500 mp for a while. In terms of Yonex, from what I have hit with, I would say the RDiS 200 and EZ Xi 98, although both are stiffer and from all reports I would say the VCORE 97 310g.

Outside of those the IG Rad Pro has that sort of flex, but is string sensitive, so you might not get that buttery feel with a poly in it. The only other that I have stuck with over the years with that pillow type feel is the PST. The Redondo mp is also very close to the RDX500 HD version IMO.

I played with RDX 300 for 4-5 years before switching to the Ezone Xi, day and night difference, Ezone is long way better than RDX.

You should look at the Ezone Xi 98, RDiS 200 (did not hit with it), and the new VCore 97 tour 310g that will be out next year if you can wait.

the rdx500 is one of the best rackets i have tried. unfortunately it was too demanding. but the feel was simply astounding.

i would say rdis100 MP is a good replacement.

try the vcore xi 98. it has the same specs at vcore 98d but it feels less stiff , more solid . Strung with dampener and overgrip they weight 333gr.

I too have been loving the RDX over the years, and simply could't find replacements until Icame across the the Yonex VCore 89, not exactly the same racket but better.
