Default New Amplifeel 360 handles

A pic of a bare amplifeel 360 handle: http://www.flickr.com/photos/demiace/8168537100/

Interesting that this off-white dimpled surface does not match the description given tennis.com by John Lyons at Wilson: http://m.tennis.com/gear/2012/09/gea.../#.UMFaBJPjnd4
Tennis.com: And Amplifeel 360? How’s it different from the original Amplifeel?

Lyons: So, the original version of Amplifeel—if you remove the grip and just look at the bare handle, it looks like it’s made of foam. But sunken into this foam are cavities, where we drop six inserts of carbon and basalt. With Amplifeel 360, the whole handle is made up of basalt and carbon. Instead of starting with foam, we’ve expanded the graphite out to form the handle.

Tennis.com: So no foam?

Lyons: No, there’s foam. We’ve designed the basalt/graphite material with valleys to retain the foam, as opposed to molding cavities and dropping basalt into the foam itself. Now, when you remove the grip, the black of the handle you see is the composite material of the racquet. It’s not something we insert in afterwards.

The bevels also appear more rounded than usual.

Maybe thats just the grip that comes on the frame rather than the amplifeel 'tech' underneath?

LOL, you're absolutely right. Thread fail!

Anybody have a pic of the actual bare handle to save this thread?

speaking of the 99s, these new grips seems slightly larger to me. Anyone else?

Same with the 2012 six one 95 blx. Grip feels bigger than the 2011 blx.

Very interested in seeing the amplifeel 360 handles although graphite directly on the cushion grip sounds problematic. This isn't the first time that wilson has molded the handle out if graphite. Some of the old oversize and super over size hyper hammer racquets used to have graphite handle. The most recent racquet with the graphite handle that I can recall is the kfactor six two ( black and white racquet). The friend I know who played with the racquet had severe wrist problems from the frame. When playing with other frames, it was a lot more comfortable for him. Therefore the only thing o could attribute it to is the handle. Hopefully this new 360 handle tech is better.

Yes, the 99s demo I played was a size down at 1/4 and it felt like my 3/8ths Blade 98 with an OG.

Normally I use a overgrip for feel, but not on the new 99s. I really like the feel of the new grip.

I always use an overgrip so I don't wear out the original grip.

BTW, how were you able to buy one already?

I have the same question - I can be emailed at 4hndvly@gmail.com if you don't want to post publicly, thanks.
