Default I don't know what Monfils is hitting with...

...but I would like one. I know it isn't all about the racket but even so he was hitting the ball very sweetly today and the sound the racket made was musical. It even looked good.

Believe it is Wilson's H22 which is similar to the Head Prestige.

The paintjob is of the Blade 98.. but it is a PJ of a pro stock Wilson.

How do you know this for sure?

I am just curious who actually knows these things.

For example there is a Belgian poster who knows Goffin actually uses the real Blade. VSBabolat knows who is using what.

Is there a link where we know that Monfils uses a Wilson PJ or is this guesswork?

Should have mentioned it was my educated guess. I don't know a single player other than Peliwo on the mens tour that has used a stock retail Blade. All the other players who are seen to be using the Blade have been using a pro stock Wilson, which I believe are the H22 and something else. I'm not an expert on pro frames but its clear that Monfils isn't using the stock Blade. His racquets are known to be 13 ounces or so.

I guess there is no reason why a pro player shouldn't use a retail racket if it is what they prefer. But given the range and variety of the rackets that the big manufacturers are said to produce for pro players, and given the extent to which they reach down to players coming up and offer them a custom racket, it seems likely that most will be using something at least somewhat different.

On another point people talk about the H19s and H22s as if those things mean something to more than a handful of people.

He's using the same Head frame that he played with as a junior (Wilson PJ).

See I trust Dgoran's knowledge

So H19 it is. Monfils has some sweet racquet tastes, so that is why I was curious what exactly he uses.
