Which one was the more impressive 10 sets of tennis to win the SF and Finals in Australia?
Rafa Nadal 2009 (def. Verdasco, then Federer) or Novak 2012 (def. Murray, then Nadal) I'm sure there's been threads on this topic before, so I apologize. it's my first time logging on in months. |

I would have to pick Novak in 2012 because:
1- Murray was a tougher opponent than Verdasco 2- Fed deflated like a balloon in the 5th in 2009 (the whole set lasted 15 minutes or something) while 2012 final remained competitive until the end. |

LOL about the defective memory about the last set lasting 15 minutes. The last set lasted 32 minutes. Nadal is incapable of finishing a set in 15 minutes, given that he takes an eternity between points. This is a known fact. |

Djokovic had a better quality of opponent though Verdasco did play amazing stuff in that semi with Nadal, to be honest he played maybe better than Murray did vs Djokovic, but he was always going to choke the end. Also Djokovic had to battle back from a set down in the 5th set of the final. So edge to Djokovic but probably not much.

Hmmm close, but I'll go with Djokovic on this one. Murray gave him all kinds of fits (though so did Verdasco for Nadal), but the length and brutality of that final edges it out for me. Vs Nadal, Novak had to go to the threshold of tennis, physically speaking that we've seen in such a big stage. Fed basically gave away the 5th set to Nadal, despite playing better that whole match, so it wasn't competitive until the end.
