I'm thinking about getting the next Vapor colorway, the white/orange look at some point, but my biggest reservation is keeping them clean, especially because I often play on a very dusty indoor surface. Any tips on how to maintain a clean look without destroying the shoe through lots of washes?

Brush off the dirt; then saddle soap the leather. Can also use ethanol followed by light waxing.

As the kids like to say 'Haters gonna hate.'
Said it before, saying it again. Anti-bacterial soap and an old toothbrush. This was only about 3 minutes of scrubbing - could do even better - and this picture doesn't show how much difference there is. The brown really came out of the gray - never thought that would look so good again. Volt brightened up too: ![]()

i wore white wilson shoes when playing on clay. never washed them. prefer that they show a bit of red dust. i think it looks more hardcore.
Just get a darker colour for hardcourts. less maintenance, more time living your life/playing tennis.

Shrink wrap.
(I love posts like this. Every time I think I'm too persnickety about my clothes or whatever, I think about posts like this - imagining a guy with his little Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, dabbing at his shoes - and I feel better about myself.

Not really answering your question, but I've been thinking of getting grey shoes next time just so they'll always/never look dirty.

I don't think would mind this, but check out jasonmarkk.com - they are a sneaker shoe cleaner that is AMAZING! It has worked on every shoe that I've needed to clean.

I wrote a letter to adidas back in 1975 or thereabouts (I was in high school), asking how I could clean my Rod Lavers; warm soapy water and a toothbrush was their reply. Some things never change.
