Syn. Gut to Poly Hybrid?

I am currently playing lots of tourney's (nat'l/sectional) and I have been breaking my Babolat Xcel fairly quickly now (once every week and a half). I'm thinking about switching to a poly hybrid, any suggestions?

If you like Xcel, start with a lower powered poly like Black 5 Edge and use Xcel as a cross. You did not tell us anything about your racket or tension so it is hard to recommend an initial tension. I'd go close to 10 pounds lower on the poly and 6 pounds lower on the Xcel.

Breaking a string every week and a half is really not a very fast pace. When you start breaking them every set and a half to two or every two days or so that's fast.

Mikeler's recommendation to blend is a good one. Try a poly in the mains with your Xcel in the crosses.

Cool and currently i play with the APD 2013 and tension is 56 on the strings right now.
