What's sad about getting to the final of his first tournament after 7 months of no tennis?

lol can you tell me who he lost to again.. exactly! a nobody!
He knee is still shot, nadal may not be able to compete at the highest level with all the knee issues, that's what sad!
His best days might be behind him, unless he makes a huge improvement in his game. I don't think he'll win as many hard courts. He may just try to compete in more clay court events ala thomas muster.

You know you are finished when you lose to players like Cebolla. Might as well go back to retirement city. Agree that RG 2013 is Djokovic's this year.

I mean seriously who is going to stop novak now? it will definitely take time for nadal to be back at his peak level, unless a miracle happens. Many players will go into the matches with nadal and try to knock him out ON CLAY.
novak looks unstoppable, he's mentally tough. Unless he sustains an injury or illness, there is no stopping the serb in his quest for the career GS, which can happen at the french.

On clay? 2013 could be Novak's best clay season ever.

He WILL be stopped at Wimbledon be either Murray or Federer.

A funny stat. Federer and Agassi completed the Career Slam at RG when they reached their 5th Sf there. This year Novak will be gunning for his 5th SF at RG. The 5th RG SF seems to be a good omen for completing the Career Slam there.

Tournament 1 after missing 8 months of play. Sure he lost to Zeballos, but did you see the way he creamed Chardy. Zeballos was playing with tempo and exposing some weaknesses in Nadal's current game. However I doubt Nadal is too worried. Nadal's whole point of playing this week was to get back in action. He's going to play a full blown clay court schedule just so he can regain his form. I do not worry about Nadal right now. Let's see how he is in April. That is a lot of time. He started off his European 05 run with a lost to Andreev, which most have forgotten by now. Nadal is beatable again on clay, I think that is clear, but to say he has no chance and to give Djokovic the French Open is ridiculous. Djokovic has only made one final in the past two years, he can still lose early as well, lets not jump the gun.

nadal looked rusty in the final. he was leaving shots and serves short and zeballos took advantage. more matchplay will help. i didn't see any indications that he's got lingering injuries.

Zeballos is now clearly the clay-goat. Will win 2013 RG.

Everybody else might as well just go home!

Yep, and as was previously mentioned in the match thread, Rafa is lucky to have got in his RG wins before Zeballos reached his peak. No more freebies for Rafito.

At Stade Roland Garros, they are now busy engraining an asterisk next to the name of every past champion on the Coupe des Mousquetaires for avoiding Zeballos to win the title.

How do you figure? Djokovic has guys like Tsonga, Federer, Del Potro, Ferrer, Verdasco, Seppi, Wawrinka, Isner, Murray etc who are all more than capable of taking him out at RG.
He has to make the final first which in itself is a considerable challenge based on history.

Nadal has a lot of time to work himself to RG winning Form......I doubt he is shivering with fear after his loss to Zeballos.

That would be even better. Federer with 2 Career Slams would be great That would mean he would have 6 RG finals. Very deserved if that were to happen.

The french open is Murrays to take now!

Nadal's knee have imploded and he will slide into physical rehab for them.

Djokovic will be sabotaged with an unrippable shirt and will hurt his shoulder trying to do it after beating his qualifier round 1 oppenent.

Federer on the other hand will be swearing at every oppenent till one of them comes over and shaves his head and he'll cry and take a MTO for abuse then retire mid-match.
