Default Mains snapping on PC600 and PP600

guys, I posted this on the strings section but thought it might be a good idea to pick the brains of the many classic frame users here.

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=454860

wonder if anyone who still plays their PC or PP share simialr breakages?
it's really peculiar that all 3 different (but similar) rackets all strung with nat gut had the mains snap on the location.

hoping users of PC600, PP600 or any other classic HEAD users can read this and add in... do you guys experience guts snapping on your 1st-2nd mains of your bottom grommet (6th-7th mains of you count from the left)

And do you guys use Power Pads on these bottom grommets for your natural gut on these classic frames

I have never used power pads and I have never had a string break there. You cant use power pads on those string holes because of the CAP Grommets.

Hi VS, once again thanks.... I guess I wasnt too clear in the post. I meant using power pads on the bottom grommets in the throat area, not on the bottom most grommet where the CAP ends.

Becos 2 out of 3 breakages I got are on the first 2 mains of the grommets on the throat. Although this latest one broke on the last main just where the CAP ends (and just before the mains go through the bottom throat grommet), the main just beside the one that snapped looks like it is also going to rupture too (this one goes through the bottom grommet on the throat)

But of cos I do agree with you too that, these can be just cases of bad guts (which I hope really)

*hope I make more sense now... was never good in writing *

Played PC600 and Classic Mid for years - even with tight thin gut - no problem there...

The only thing I can think of is that during stringing the cap has cut into the gut thus weakening it.
