Default yutani asked, "why dun you start playing left eh?"

sometimes my tennis mate can be irritating. he always say nadal beat federer mainly becos nadal is a lefty...one day i told him to play left like nadal. (my friend is right-handed for tennis)...he took the dare & tried playing wif his left hand for a few weeks and gave up. lolz! what a weakling...one his dumb reason is that he cant generate enuf power on his serve or something like that...

what about you guy? have you rightys' ever tried playing left and suddenly gave up? so what's ur reason for quiting mate'? for those who managed to switch from right to left...congrats!

I play right handed. Why? Because I'm right handed.

My game has enough problems. Why add the trauma of switching hands?

I play lefty against weaker 3.5s and 3.0s and play righty against strong 3.5s and up. Playing lefty is more relaxing as I hit the ball slower and there is more time between shots so it's more like a siesta, very relaxing with long slow rallies. It would take a long time if ever for my lefty to catch up with my righty. I was born left-handed but play sports right-handed.

LOL, geeez Kevhen after all the stuff you mentioned, you should be playing against Federer. You simply crack me up with your "bragging" stuff. Very funny stuff.

Wyuntani, this has got to be the most idiotic post ever. This is worse than BeachTennis's mumbo jumbo. BeachTennis can now officially pass the trophey to you for being the biggest dork online. lolz

Wyutani always held the trophy, Bungallo... what are you talking about ?

And wyutani, Nadal didn't said one day: "Ohh, I feel like playing lefty", and after a few weeks, the switch was done. He was born with somehow equal skill with both hands, and Toni decided to train him as a lefty... FOR 15 YEARS.

Your post, and EVEN MORE the bet, makes no sense at all. Why don't you try to play righty?

I broke my right arm, and had to have it in a cast for 3 weeks and not use it for like 4 months... needless to say I couldn't possibly just stop playing tennis. So I took up lefty. It was VERY VERY hard at first, but you know with persistence you can learn just about everything. When my arm was finally healed, I was pretty good at lefty tennis... but serving with a cast was hard!

Love the lolz detail.

I guess I'm as far from being ambidextrous as one can be. I can't do anything right with my left hand. Have no feel whatsoever. Playing tennis lefty is science fiction to me. Kudos to everyone who can do it.

There was no bragging just saying who I play lefty and right against. I have no power in my lefty but it's consistent enough to beat some 3.5s. Is that bragging? Sorry if it is.

I enjoy the occassional lefty match and even played my 4.5 doubles partner lefty last winter when his right shoulder was hurting him and it was hilarious to watch us both play lefty and look like Average Joes off the street with very unorthodox shots. We both have wheels so it was hard to hit any winners and neither of us could really finish at the net either but it made it alot of fun to see how dorky we looked.

Could someone explain Wyutani's avatar to me? I understand it's Marcos Baghdatis in the rain, but what's the story? I assume it is Aussie Open, but I only saw a couple matches of it.

Someone said his avatar was 'inspiring'?

Sometimes YOU can be irritating. Of course switching to left handed for a few weeks won't help at all. Nadal has been left handed since he picked up a racquet. That is totally different from trying to learn to play left handed in a few weeks.

Well, Wong, it's not easy to switch to the non dominant hand after you've grown accustomed to playing with the dominant hand, but I'm willing to bet that if you started playing tennis with your off hand right from the start of your tennis "career", your strokes would be as good as they are right now provided you did it from the beginning. I'm always game to experiment; I'll try the left handed switch and see what happens. Will check in with you in a year.

ahh~ at last someone who's not insulting me. thank's mate...i play lefty by nature (this is true, even if "someone" dun believe me). i treid to play right since last month (i was inspired by federer). my friend treid playing left while i play right, its part of the dare, he gave up first but im still trying on my right though. thinking of giving it up soon...

PS: sorry for any grammar mistake (english aint my first language), my avatar is marcos bagdatis becos i share the same bday as him, my name is yutani, not yuntani...g'day

If you're Chinese, how is your name Yutani? I thought Chinese had one syllable surnames, which I assume is Wong, and 2 syllable given names which would make you Wong Yu Tan, not Wong Yutani. What happened?
