Maria Sharapova's looks

Ok, I will give you that we don't pay paricular attention to the less attractive women out there, and I will even agree that she is pretty, but to me her looks are right at the same level of several of my friends whom I consider to be average. To me she looks like just one of the girls that you would hang out with, not the friend you walk down the street with and every man whistles at.

Ah, Cameron Diaz. Heycal will take a moment to boast about he was fortunate enough to be her partner in a charity pool tournament several years back, just before she became a huge star. While not the most gorgeous woman I've ever met, she was "way above average", and she had a certain something that made her grow more attractive the longer you were around here, so by the end of the evening one was hopelessly in love...

ok i think im gonna stop arguing in here.. next time ill post ill be the on the neutral side.. but in reality my points stand as maria sharapova is very ordinary.. theres nothing special about her in terms of her looks.. and yes ive seen alot of girls that are way better than her.. and yes i choose these girls over masha and heycal's view of average girls... and blind or not blind towards these so called 'unattractive' girls.. watever maybe im blind.. but the average girls that i personally know are more than wat maria is.. so who cares if me and the other 50% of the people that have voted in this forum is blind.. obviously we just have higher standard.. hey i just noticed this.. i shouldnt need to try to convince you what good looking is or whats not good looking is.. if ur aim is that low, then by any means u can aim low.. it gives us more chance to get someone higher.. so yes heycal no more arguing with u anymore.. so im asking u dont attack my post anymore.. im gonna be on the neutral side now just so that theres no fight or argument between us anymore.. ok? so this is my point of view this is my eyes and my heart so please respect it

The reason most of these woman are considered beautiful is not because of make-up artists, it's because -- are you ready for this, everyone? -- they are actually beautiful women. If one searches around, one can find horrible pictures of babes like Sharapova and these movie stars on the internet, but those photos are even less truthful than the airbrushed ones. It's not like these women are all horribly unattractive in real life and there's some secret conspiracy that wrongly elevates them to hottiedom. For the most part, they are just truly attractive, period.

I don't even think movie stars are top notch. I will admit that many are above average, but the most attractive women I've seen have always been in real life. I guess too many movie stars are too skinny, which bothers me.

She is good looking, thats all. I've seen her in person many times, trust me she is attractive but not attractive enough to be the Highest paid female athlete on the planet.

You were born too late. There used be stars like Sophia Lauren and Ursula Andrus and Ann-Margaret and Marilyn Monroe... What I find more disturbing is that many young starlets start out looking great and feminine, and then they become very famous and suddenly start dieting and working out like crazy and negatively affecting their looks. Jennifer Connelly, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez are prime examples of this phenemenon, among others. All were more attractive before they discovered the gym.

New York is special, which is why they charge a premium to visit and live there. It's also relevant to this thread, because the most talented and attractive people migrate to places like New York City and not, say, to Boulder, Colorado.

Actually, I'm trying to get you to acknowledge reality, and to acknowledge that society's perception of beauty deems Miss Sharapova a very attractive woman (and rightfully so, in my opinion.)

You must care somewhat, since've you posted about a half dozen times in this thread so far... As for who's "mounting a campaign", I would suggest it's you and a few of the others here who are doing so, for that term denotes trying to change something or overcome some obstacle. I am just defending the common-sense status quo and pointing out the facts and the reality of Miss Sharapova's triumph in the world's view of what's attractive. If you don't like that fact, then start writing those letters to her sponsors and the SI swimsuit folks and so on...

Yes and no. I made the point earlier that the reason she is the highest paid female on the planet is because she's very pretty AND a great player -- she is the prettiest of the BEST athletes on the planet. Girls like Ashley Harkleroad:
