the new radical tour is nice. I hit with it for about 5 minutes. can't tell you much, but it's definitely a solid, stable racquet.

Doc have you ever hit with the 1998 Radical? I'd love to get my hands on one just to compare. So far that's the only one missing from my early-Radical collection.

Yeah I owned a few. It was the same racket as the 1995, but just new cosmetics. If there was a difference I never noticed it, as I had the 1995 version and the 1998 version during my HS days. I don't think many were produced though as the Ti. Radical was released shortly after I believe. The 1995/1998 model was the best radical though. Amazing control and stable. If I would have been stronger in HS, I probably would have never switched to the Ti. Radicals. Wish I still had mine.

I've hit with the LM, FP and the new Agassi LE. The LE is by far my favorite frame of the three. I'm not so much a fan of OS racquets, but I do enjoy hitting with that one.

Good to hear that the 95 and 98 are similar. I had two of the 1995 Radicals (MP and OS) but I traded the MP for a Trisys 260 MP.

Well I love my 2 FXP Radical Tours. I hav them strung with FXP at 60lbs and 4 grams total lead at 10 and 2 on both...wilson true grip...prokennex overwraps until I run out of them. I have been thinking of trying a hybrid string setup but I am still trying to figure out which one to try.

What do you like about the FXP string and what are you looking for in a hybrid?

I've hit with both, but the microgel radical was what I was talking about. THere is a tour version and a regular version. I found the tour version to feel very solid and stable. didn't have time to hit with the other frame

I am sad to say that I am leaving the Radical Club, of which I was a lurker. For most of my tennis life I've played with radicals. In fact the Ti.Radical was my first players racquet. I am leaving to join the Prestige club. My aunt will get my FXP Radicals and the Ti.Radicals that she gave me a long time ago.

Doc I like how the FXP and the NXT felt but tonight I used it without the babolat string savers and I was very unhappy with how much the string was moving. These are not going to last long without them. I supply my own power but I am looking for spin and arm friendly in a hybrid. Thanks for the help...I also thought of trying Signum Pro-Poly Plasma 16 but not sure what tension to use with it.

alcap26,
I haven't tried SPPP, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. In regards to arm friendly I'd suggest giving the Pro Supex line a try. All of their polys play very soft. I've been using Big Ace for several months now and have been very pleased. With the softer polys I've found that you can string them at your normal tension with no problem. The stiffer ones however prolly need to be dropped a few lbs however. You might want to give Blue Gear a look. It's the same as Big Ace, but textured for better ball bite.

Can't wait for those to come out and give them a spin, but they'll have to be above and beyond my Limited Editions. I love my LE's.

How was the weight on the regular version. My biggest beef with the modern radicals has been their weight. Bring back the 12+ ouncers.

I use both tiRad OS and iRad OS. At 59lbs with syn guts, they are at perfect tension for me. Just added 6g at the throat of both rackets to bring the weight a little under 12oz (I have overgrip and protective head tape). Whack the heck out of the ball and it just stay in. Perfect.

The fxp weighs in at 11.3, with the new Microgel going at 11.1 - very close in playability.
