Too light and stability issues. I was playing with the OS. When I started playing against faster pace, even on cleanly struck balls the racket would be twisting in my hand. Returns especially and my returns are the pride of my game. It might just be personal preference however. I think they're good tweener rackets, but they just weren't for me.

I first started playing with Radicals during the 8th grade. I've been an Agassi fan for the longest time, so being a 13-14 year old kid and not knowing much about rackets I bought the 1995 Radical. Without demoing, I then switched to the Ti.Radical a few years later. I then took a break from tennis during college and bought 2 LM Radical without demoing again. This time it was a mistake. I didn't like the LM Radicals at all, but luckily the Limited Editions came out and now I'm in love.

Head would you re-release the 1995 Radical too please?!?!?!?!
Mind if I ask --were the Radicals Austrian or Chinese made? (When did you buy them?) Thanks

I am using Radical 630 Twin Tube. It's a great all-court frame and has lots of spin potential with control for flat shots as well. It really seems like a decent hybrid between the Prestige and Pro Staff.

frekcles, are you now wanting to replace the frame that you traded to me? Thought you were more into the 260.

No. Not replacing them. Actually in the process of getting a replacement for the one that I traded for your Trisys 260. So if you need a backup you know who to contact.

If you're refering to the LM Radicals, they were made in the Czech Republic and China. The Twin Tube models were all made in Austria.

I played for a while with a Ti Rad MP, which I sold some weeks ago.
a guy could sell me an almost new Rad Tour MP, 98 model, for less than 50 $.
what do you guys think about that? should I go for it?

my current stick is a PC600, and I'd like to try something different, without leaving the 18x20 string pattern.
given the very low price, I could give that stick a try...

giolp,
It'll have a similar feel, but with more power and a bit stiffer than the PC600. I remember trying them both and thinking the PC600 was was too low powered for me at the time and a bit too flexy.

is the 98 Rad Tour somehow similar to the Wilson NBlade?
I guess the specs (weigth, flex rating, balance, head size and string pattern) are quite similar

Cys19, you have to try out one of these old(er) Radicals to truly know what Doc is referring to....

Someone is selling a Radical LE on the boards right now and another one is selling an OS zebra.

The radical tour twin tube is one of the sweetest sticks made ever...IMHO. The 1998 yellow graphics are super cool too.

If you don't want it, I am all over it.

Lemme know

How many people plan on getting a Microgel or switching to one? The weights and swingweight are just too low for me to even consider them unfortunately.

Yea, the microgel radical just seems too light, but the tour model looks interesting, except they had to make that 16x19 instead of the usual 18x20.

Doc,

Seriously, tt radical 630's are the bomb. My mixed doubles partner actually has 2 of the 3 frames from my old bag.

She won't give em back to me and they are way too low powered for her.

.....at least that is what I keep telling her

Hoping to trade a mint i radical midplus to her and get one back soon......

They pop up occasionally on the big site.....I think there is one up there now.

qualifier.....the only radical oversize I have ever hit is the ti radical 107(have 2 of those)

All my other comments refer to mid plus......

BTW the i prestige I added to my bag this month is a real winner too. Plays almost the same as my L5 austrian i radical. I might do the amurray bumper modification and pull off the lead to emulate the setup on the i prestige......the i prestige is the only racquet in my bag without lead tape at 3 and 9 oclock and it is perfect.

Oh I've played with them before. I had 2 Extra long one (1-1995, 1-199, 2 oversized 1995, and 1 midplus 1995 during High School. To this day they're still my favorite racket, but these Limited Editions are serving me well.

Default empty my bag?

If I could find 3 brand new 1998 tt radical 630's I would probably put all my other sticks up for sale on the big site......

They are that good.....

I was a bit troubled thinking you hadn't experienced them thanks for setting me straight!

Good thread!!!

LOL. Remember who started this thread. I've hit with every radical made and nothing feels better than the old 1995/1998 Twin Tube Radical. These Limited Editions and the old Trisys 260 are close, but they don't have that same feel or softness. The one thing I always liked about the Twin Tube was it's flex and it really allowed you to whip through the ball with excellent control.

Hey Doc,

I have one 1995 OS Radical Tour.

Interested?

Wait, didn't I get this one from you awhile back? I'd have to check my records.

BTW, I played with a 1995 midplus today and it feels sweet. Different feel than the Trisys. Both racquets will be fighting for a place in my bag.
