I tend to "sit" too much as i am about to hit the ball, i have heard you are supposed to be able to draw a straight line from your knees to your head as you are about to hit(trophy position) should i try and change it? I dont have much power by the way, opinions wanted.

morten: If you aren't fully extended as you hit the ball, you aren't hitting it at the full height possible. The higher you hit it, the easier it is to smack it in. Just think of the different angles. Up high you can hit *straight* to the box, but the lower you go, it needs to arc (read, tons of spin, less speed, or both).

Watch a few video's of professionals who have a relatively similar motion to yours, or just a standard motion. It should give you a good idea of what will give you the most potential in terms of how far you can improve your serve.
Hell, I actually don't think I'm straight completely when I hit mine... I dunno! |
