Question Anyone used the Perfect Pushup device?

Looks like a great way to tone up, the rotating handles would certainly lessen the strain on the joints I would think. www.perfectpushup.com

I have it and it's a great tool for getting in shape/adding muscle to your upper body..
There isn't many exercises better than pushups and this device makes you do them right, with an added twist that hits the biceps and shoulders as well.
Put it this way...I could do 100 regular pushups, and can only do 50 "perfect pushups".
You will notice the difference within 2 weeks in you follow the workouts provided.

To me, the perfect pushup is not called a pushup, they're called dips. Dips are so much more difficult than pushups and so much more effective in terms of upper body development. I haven't done a pushup since the 20th century and just to let you know about my pressing power, I had a 335 lb. bench press on the flat.

so if you were to do a pushup, Rickson, you'd launch yourself into a standing position?!

Unfortunately dips are also an excellent way to really hose up your shoulders and pinch nerves in your neck. It is very easy to use improper form on dips. Pushups are much safer.

What is proper form on dips?! I have done them before and honestly don't really get much out of them -- a sure sign I wasn't doing them properly.

Not for me. Pushups cause me all sorts of pain in the elbows and shoulder. I hate them. I do dips instead.

If you want to emphasis your chest, keep your chin on your chest, tilt your body forward and flare your elbows out as you descend.

If you want to emphasis your triceps, keep your body and head upright and keep your elbows close together.

Passing the issue of the accuracy of the name, I would think the handles could actually aggravate a pre-existing shoulder problem because you are going below parallel. I've been tempted to order a pair, but I don't want to have shoulder issues, so I'm very careful about rotator cuff work and benching.
