If anyone's interested, Pete played some World Team Tennis this summer. He was 1-3 in singles and 1-3 in men's doubles.
I liked what the head coach of his team said last year when he heard Pete was on his squad---"Oh no!"---meaning he would have to let a rusty Sampras play. Pete didn't do too well then either, but his team, Newport Beach, did get to the finals, where they lost. He didn't play. Pete's currently 8-0 and undefeated on Courier's senior tour. man, I wish my matches in high school & college employed the same scoring system as WTT(play just one set, no-ad, first to 5 games)
My career record would look pretty different. Sampras' probably would look pretty different as well, maybe he'd have 0 slams if they had that format on the real tour. at least the seniors play by the rules(except for that super tibreak in lieu of a 3rd set) |

WTT doesn't make Pete tick. Does anyone besides team coaches care which team wins the WTT championship? I think most pros participate in WTT simply out of respect for Billy Jean King.

With the 4-3 scoring, Pete is at a huge disadvantage because at deuce he would deliberately hit 2 1st serves to go up an ad. With no ad points his serve becomes less of a weapon.
