how can a ball machine be used in junior tennis training.
isnt it better to rally with a partner or be fed balls by a coach/parent regards, tricky. |

my wife wants to spend thousands on a ball machine. i put up the post sort of hoping/knowing there wouldn't be much if any feedback. regards, tricky. ps no posts about my wife's reasoning powers. |

It depends on the ball machine. Some of the more expensive ones seem to fit well with advanced training regimes. Even a less expensive one, though, can be good because it allows the coach/trainer to be on the same side of the court as the student, rather than having to shout the length of the court.

Hi tricky
Ball machines are the best thing since sliced bread. If a coach can feed you 500 ball an hour... a ball machine will feed 3-4 times as many. There are machines for all sorts of players and skill levels. I live in Sydney Australia and currently have a SAM SP-4 machine. You can even download a 13 or 14 page drill training manual from the SAM webpage www.samtennis.com from memory it's in the download section. Have a look... it's only a few clicks away. Downunder Kid Wilson Sampras 6.0 95 (if you can find one) Pacific or Bab Gut. |
