Default court shape

Here's one for ya! For a couple of years I have noticed and commented to people at my club that the teaching court (the show court with seating and glass wall) is somewhat bowl shaped, rather than flat. That's right, it dips at the center near the net. This gives the effect of a lower net when you play. I always figured the builders were chumps. A guy ups and swears the other day that our club (and many clubs) designed it that way on purpose to make people "play better" (get more balls over net) on that court as they take lessons with the club pro. They get happy, they sign up for more lessons, pro and club make more $. Pathetic if true. Has anyone else heard of this at any other clubs?
