Default Great Comebacks and saves

I was wondering, what's the greatest # of match points, set points, break points saved in a single match? what's the record for the numder of times a person served for a match and lost (in a single match)? what about in a high profile match?

Don't know about records but I know in 2004 or 05 Rainer Schuettler saved 11 match points and won the match. Don't recall who it was against.

Todd Martin was up 5-1 in the fifth set against Mal Washington in the semifinals of Wimbledon in 1996 and lost.

Lisa raymond came back from 6-0 5-0 down to win the match. I forgot who she was playing though.

Connors probably made the most comebacks of any top pro. I think in one match he was down 2 sets and 0-4 in the next and came back to win. Several of his USO matches during his 1991 run such as him beating Krickstein in 5 sets being down 2-5 in the 5th for example.

1927 was a funny year for winning a Slam Final after saving match points:
Australian - Patterson d. Hawkes 36, 64, 36, 18-16, 63 -- Saved 5 M.P.
Roland Garros - Lacoste d. Bill Tilden 64, 46, 57, 63, 11-9 -- Saved 2 M.P.
Wimbledon - Henri Cochet d. Jean Borotra 46, 46, 63, 64, 75 -- Saved 6 M.P.

Im thinking of 2 at the French but I dont have exact details. Mary Jo over Sabatini after being down a set and 5-0 or 5-1 I think, and also Sundstrom over someone (Gildmeister?) after being down 2 sets and 5-0 or 5-1 and coming back to win.

Federer against Djokovic on those setpoints on the latest US Open. xD

It was like, "You want this point? You want this point? awww, too bad. You'll never get this." after Djokovic beat Federer on a previous tournament.

Well those were my thoughts when I was watching the final. They're both cool, but that was pretty funny. xD

Down two sets, and is 2 points from defeat in the third, comes back and takes down a tired Nadal in 5.

Question

are there some stats somewhere about the number of tournaments and matches won having saved match points in the career ?
that would be interesting.

The greatest match-point saving in a Grand Slam championship final occurred in a losing effort. Roland Garros 2000: Magnus Norman saved 10 championship points against Kuerten in that match, but Kuerten clinched it on the 11th.

That was a wonderful match to watch. I had the VCR recording it. Saw that Rafa was "going to win" and left the house. Came home, played the tape, and was blown away by the end result...

this get my vote, wish I could get a copy of it:

"The lights at the West Side Tennis Club shine on one of the greatest comebacks in tennis history as Manuel Orantes saves five match points and comes back from being down two-sets-to-one and 0-5 in the fourth set to defeat Guillermo Vilas, 4-6, 1-6, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4, in the semifinals. Less than 18 hours after defeating Vilas, Orantes upsets top-seeded and defending champion Connors, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, in the men's singles final."

very interesting, to see players win an event after almost losing. sadly, that list is probably the only way to find out about any 'records' on this matter.

I had no idea about Muster in '95!
