I inquired there last week -- they said none available (nor in the foreseeable future) and steered me to the MG Prestige.

OK, but the question is if the newer batch was still made with twaron? Anyone know?

Can someone please give a PT630/PC600 comparison as far as power, feel, comfort ,manouverability etc?

I've been using PC600 for 15 years and am addicted to how this frame feels. I've demoed alot of the newer frames and nothing compares. I love the way the frame feels for volleys, backhand slices and returning 1st serves in particular- I play mainly 4.5-5 doubles.

It would be perfect if the PT630 was a PC600 only more forgiving due larger headsize but surely this can't be so?

The PT630 is the closest you are going to get to a PC600 that is slightly more forgiving. With proper stringing it can be even closer. The PC600 plays well with a vast majority of strings and tension but with the PT630 you need to experiment a little with different setups. I managed to "shape" a PT630 to hit like a PC60 at least on serve by manipulating the string tension, elongating the shape of the head by stringing mains at around 40 and cross at around 70.

As for high level doubles, neither of these two frames are optimal. There are other frames that volley better than the PT630 while the PC600 tends to frame some shots.

I have a friend who's on the tour. He's not ranked high and plays challengers. He got his MG Prestige PJs so his older "Radical" pj frames landed in my hands.

This baby hits a solid ball!!

A slightly off-topic question.
Does the 630 refer exactly to head size in sq cm? Or is it just a model number ?

Actually my backup rack is a Head Ventoris 660. 660 cm converted is 102 sqi. But when I put the face against my 95" main racket, the heads seem to be the same size.

I have searched the net a lot but am coming up with nothing.

The 630 in Pro Tour 630 refers to head size. HEAD claims the Pro Tour 630 is 630 cm2. Just like 600 in Prestige Classic 600 again refers to head size. HEAD also claims the Prestige Classic 600 is 600 cm2.

this looks like an iprestige MP Mold ( dare I say PT630 mold) I can tell by the wells, the radical are more rounded, the CAP is for sure an iprestige, is there any silicon in butcap? does the butcap have a drilled hole? is that lead covering 6 crosses at 3/9, all ALU rough is an arm killer cut the strings out immediately

Ok, I'm in........just paid for a PT 280 (made in austria) in 8.5/10 condition... small chip at 12oclock -_-

I can't wait to get it! I wonder if it will be even better feeling than my classic tour. I was really loving hitting that nice popping noise when I hit the sweet spot today. Definitely a confidence booster

My prediction is that...I'll be able to serve better with it than the larger 660 size classic tour... and I'll have even better plow through than my classic tour.

If my prediction is right... i might have to buy 1 more -_-

But ive never played a pro tour so i really dont know. And which players on the tour are using the pro tour today?
i'd be interested in finding out about this too. both have twaron in them -_-

Be interested to see how you fare with such a low power frame. For me (around a 4.0), though the control element was amazing and you've got that unique lush feeling, despite putting in the hours and application, TBH it was too demanding for me... and the no. 1 area where this was most quickly apparent was in the serve dept. Good luck though.

I have 3 old Head Pro Tour 630 made in Austria, but i destroyed 1 of them by trying to do a paintjob... It turned out ok, but the HEAD writing didn´t turned out as i hoped for. If you look from a distance it looks ok, but close up i am not satisfied.

It turned ot this way. The pic is a couple of years old and i have only used the racket a couple of times as i havn´t played in a couple of years...

That actually looks way better than the original blue paintjob. I like the black a lot! And the white "HEAD" letter stands out quite nicely!

this is my shinny glossy black PT630 ( I have three that I painted that way) One I play regularly with, it lost its shine and it is peeling from where I mount it on the stringing machine

Well, i definitely can't serve as well with my classic tour mp (660) remake. It's either the too dense string pattern or the weight. first serves aren't bad, but it's the topspin serve that suffers significantly.

will someone answer the question: do the remakes (designed in austria) PC660 and PT280/630's have twaron in them? D:

mr. chaho, no graphics on your PT630? common, paint a pic of something on it.

also, had your "blacked out" pt630 just become more soft, flexible, and magical? lol
