has he changed his forehand or something? its the forehand i have never seen from him, i thought he was using something between eastern and semi western and now it looks like its a full western grip, i could pretty much tell from how he finishes and whips it, correct me if im wrong, im watching davis cup match right now against roddick.... plus roddick's string appeals to be baby blue color which it could be Luxilon Big Banger Alu power ,,

I'm pretty sure it's not western, but I didn't remember it being so weak, none of his shots are going deep. he makes his bones from the net though anyway. I wish I could volley like Bjorkman, I enjoy watching his game.

No way that grip is western, way too flat.

u could still hit flat from western grip if u just slap the ball, and watch his follow through and how he holds it, its gonna be something like western , just watch his FH carefully

Yea, I noticed that too in the first four games on ESPN. It looks a lot more whippy in the follow through, and it does seem like he changed his grip. It's too bad that he doesn't have the consistency or precision in his back game, otherwise he would be fairly close to the level of Henman because he really has good hands at net.

I keep forgetting to mention Jonas in the "who deserves to win a slam" threads, but I really enjoy his balls to the wall, charge the net on big points game. It would be great to see him hoist some big hardware, but his singles ranking has gone down the crapper. oh well.

Maybe all of his (impeccable) impersonations of other players have his forehand a little confused.

the top of his abilities this time - for example all the trouble he had with his first serves. He felt slightly "off". I wonder why. It's a pity neither Pim-Pim or Söderling could play - I think the doubles match could have been much more interesting if Björkman wouldn't have had to play a 6 hour singles match the first day (even though he won that match - he looked really tired and slow for the doubles match). Ah well. Next time we'll meet in Sweden - then we'll win! |
