Sounds like to some people, using a vibration dampener is like wearing a condom.

rubber band here
takes away that annoying ping sound, but doesnt take away the feel of the stringbed like most of the dampeners i used not to mention itll never fall off, i lost 2 wilson dampeners, realised my racket was making a ping sound halfway through a rally and couldnt find it anywhere lol

Vibration dampener. My Ipex 7.0 makes a really loud ping when anything hits the stringbed. It's annoying.

Oh man I used to use the babolat custom ones, they fell off on me when I was hitting a smash and... It got lost. So now I use rubber band, it feels weird without having a rubber band.

I mentioned the ping sound when I tried out the iPex 7.0 today. And that's with a dampener too.

I go back and forth on rubber bands but I use volkl so vibration isn't really a problem but the ping can get annoying especially when playing indoors.

but i use it cuz i hate the sound and the feel...with a dampener i love my rracqquets without them i would switch in a heartbeat they make a huge difference to me even the slightest change of position annoys me cuz i feel like the ball gets soo much more pop when it goes off the bottom string

i used to use a babolat aeropro dampener, or something similar to it. It was amazing, but after it kept falling out i decided not to use a V Dampener. makes little difference once you get used to the feel.

I don't use it because I don't think it provide value to anyone's game. I believe it's just one of many successes by the marketing folks to convince people that they 'need' this stuff to play well.

My Wilson PS 6.1 Classics don't seem to need them. Lots of folks have hit with my racket and comment on how quiet and stable feeling mine are compared to whatever new racket they are using with a damper.
