tfm - Have not hit a ball in 5 weeks, and its killing me. Especially w/ all the tennis that's been on TV. And if you think the super heavy/stiff racket is bad, I used to use Kevlar / Synthetic strung in the mid 60s. However, the only arm problems I had came from bad technique on the serve (which is why my take back is more like Rafter's). Since I fixed that 8 years ago, I've had no problems whatsoever.
Sup - I have no problem paying a few $ to get a racket measured, but I would like it to be somewhat accurate as I'm going to use those numbers in my next racket purchase (if I go w/ Vantage).

Mclovin -- that's harsh. i would imagine you have also not been wakeboarding in 5 weeks either. let us know when you are off injured reserve. i want a rematch with you and the Toe Pez. i think i took you guys too lightly because of the reflection off your dome and because one of you was wearing a skirt. i won't be fooled again.

This rain is nuts... Looks like the curse I put on the DC metro area worked.
If I can't play tennis, then nobody will, mwuhahaha! Right now I'm having carrot cake for breakfast! http://www.sweetstreet.com/Store/pro...0Carrot%20Cake 1,290 calories per serving!!! I've eaten about 3/4 of the cake already... my wife just wants it out of the house. The arm has been feeling better lately, which is nice. I can almost brush my teeth with my right hand without too much pain. |

mclovin -- i don't wanna get in trouble with a certain someone but i think you look better in a skirt. there i said it. i can't lie.
any of you geeks play with the Asus EEE PC yet? i picked one up at microcenter this weekend and i like it but i'm not completely sold on it yet. really hard to type on the tiny keyboard and i have tiny - i mean regular human sized hands. but it sure beats lugging around a 6 pound laptop and a 1 pound power supply brick and another couple pounds of laptop bag. ![]() |

was there sat. no worries. i've done my share in destroying world crab population over the wkd.
btw, i can see why you like that tar-ish seasoning b/c it's just a big ol' pile of salt and pepper. i was trying to scrape most that crap off since it started eat away my skin but imagined that you would of licked the back of every crab clean with another side of JO. bttw.. i asked for JO and they looked at me with confusion. you may need to find a new crab place. |

oh tfm.. why... get one now. price is about to drop like a rock on the older models. the new EEE 900 series has a bigger LCD screen making it actually usable as a laptop. it's should get released in the US soon.

sapient -- i know the 9 inch version is coming out but it's still gonna have the crappy celeron processor in there. the 9 inch with the intel atom processors will be the one to get. plus i wanted to see just how useful it is. so far - it does 90% of what any other laptop can do.

we tested these out for work but at the end most of the users' feedback was that the screen resolution was a little too low to surf web, program or write documents.
are you going to dump XP on it? |

McLovin - 71 stiffness in a thin beam? Interesting. What does that hit like? I know my PDR is either 71 or 70 in stiffness, but I imagine my racket is much thicker than what you play with. TFm - What's for lunch? Probably about a gallon of coffee, finished off my term project at 3am this morning and dragged my self into work. Anyone go to Qdoba? They have this ancho chile/ pork burrito that rocks!

yeps. i'm gonna put a lite version of XP on there as my final test. the wife said it was a bit too small for her because some webpages you have to scroll sideways to see everything. i think one of the best uses though is for kids. my 8 year old niece loves it and the keyboard fits her fingers perfectly.
wife is eyeing a thinkpad x61 or those 13.3 inch dell XPS laptops. i told her to put her apron back on and make me a sammich. |

i ended up getting a x61s over the asus eee. i know there's a huge price gap but i wasn't able to use the EEE in it's current state especially when looking over code.
p.s have you seen the lenovo x300?? it's actually smaller than the mac air overall but it's $$$$.. a lot of panty drop effect... <-- no not yours aight no more thread jacking back on the lunch topic. i'm thinking diet today.. but will prob end up sobbing and pacing in the halls ~1pm looking for a strong shoulder to cry on Last edited by sapient007 : 05-12-2008 at 06:56 AM. |

JR - The PC+ "swirl", as it is known, hits very similar to the Pro Staff 6.1 Hyper Carbon, if you've ever hit w/ that.
IMO, its very stable & solid, has great "plow through" (my favorite shot is my "Pete Sampras" running forehand cross court), and practically no feel...which is just how I like it. Volleys are crisp, but you had better not swing on them, or you can pretty much forget it, as it weights 12.6 oz strung. I don't serve hard, so I can't speak to its power, but I know I have no problems hitting kick, slice or flat, with tons of control. I've realized at this point that I do NOT like flexible rackets. I've tried many (new Pure Storm, Volkl V10, Head Prestige FP), and I've wanted to like them, but that flex at impact just bothers me. You're welcome to hit w/ them if we ever get out (didn't we talk about hitting in the morning?).

Yeah we did - I just haven't been able to drag my lazy behind out of bed recently. Grad school work has been keeping me up late. Give me about a week to knock off finals, then let's try to connect now that you are about healed up.
