Most of the time it isnt bad, but when I need to pull just one or two extra clicks to get to parallel, its a b*tch to turn it. Have a sore spot on my hand at the base of my thumb from it actually.
so basically is it normal? and if not is there something I can do about it to loosen it up. thanks |

Try lifting 20 to 30 degrees before using the clutch, like Bud says. It gets easier over time.

^^^ What they said. The reason it is so hard is you're basically trying to rotate the gripper by hand to the correct tension instead of letting the weight do the work for you when you try using the ratchet without lifting it. Lift it up more and there will be less tension on the string and gripper, and it will be much easier to turn.
