Default HEAD PT57a vs PT57e

For all you Head pj experts I was wondering if you know the difference between the code PT57a and PT57e? From what I found on the forums the PT57a is the PT630 mold, while the PT57e is the i.Prestige mold. I'm wondering if there is a major difference in the flex and/or stock weights of these frames in the uncostomized form? Thanks everyone.

Could this recent post have an inspiration to this thread by any chance?

You know a lot about the public PT 630 versions. Any idea about the pj frames?

how about this

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showt...&highlight=57a

anyway, there should not be a "major" difference, maybe slight difference in flex and weight, but I would imagine that the 57a's have a crispier feel (more pop) and weight a little more

You're probably right. This pj stuff is like chasing ghosts.

The "PT57" is the mold and the "A" or "E" is the layup. AM does not use the A layup

So is the layup what makes the racquet stiff? If so any idea what the RDC flex would be?

Unidirectional carbon Fiber laminate are mixed with epoxy and sometimes aramid fibers like Twaron or Kevlar in the layup. Even paint will effect how the racquet feels/flexs and will change the characteristics of the frame which is why to Sampras or Andy Murray they would not change the paint of their frames.

My original stock Austrian PT630's had %6 Twaron in the layup and felt damp and muted. The last batch of Chinese PT280 did not have Twaron nor did the iprestige MP, they felt crispier. After that production run they pretty much all felt hollow to me, different (maybe less quality) graphite and other materials were introduced like intellifibers, Liquidemetal and now microgel etc were mixed in the layup.

I noticed you liked the microgel radical pro. The reason why you liked the micro radical pro is because the shape of the hoop is different. It is a new semi tear drop shape where they lowered the bridge to have instant out of the box gratification like the Prue Drive and it works.
