Default David Ferrer Backhand: Unusual?

His backhand looks 'strange' to me.
First there is quite a bit of space between both hands. Left hand is further up the handle.

Second he seems to finish higher up than is usual on his stroke.

It is a compact stroke and he hits it well.

Can any of the mechanics experts on here deconstruct the Ferrer backhand?
