To all people who plan on attending the Chelsea-ManCity match tomorrow (Both Citizens and Blues):

I want to hear the support of Hughes tomorrow. I want it to be loud. I want to hear the sound of the fans telling the rich men to F off if they want to play fantasy football. I want to hear it from the masses, that football isn't a plaything for rich men looking for a quick profit. Football is football, and nothing more. Let's hear it.

Kind of sucks, I really don't want City to become another Chelsea .
I agree. Corluka is a fantastic player, he was magnificent against us last year. You don't realise quite how big he actually is on tv but he is an absolute beast. Breed them big in Croatia don't they?

As for Man City becoming another Chelsea, well they are worse. Chelsea were already a top 5 team who had won FA Cups and gone far in the Champions League long before Abramovich moved in. Also, Abramovich doesn't like paying over the odds for players. Last year Sevilla wanted £24 Million for Dani Alves, he could of payed that much easily but he felt he was being ripped off and stepped away from the deal. Same happened with Robinho this year, he thought he was worth £26 Million and wouldn't go a penny over. Man City appear to be willing to pay crazy money to get players and that's really dangerous. £140 Million for Ronaldo? £60 Million for Buffon? £80 Million each for Torres, Messi, Kaka, Fabregas?

You can say what you like about Abramovich but he rarely goes over the market value price for a player.

Well, it''s actually next week. This week is the Internationals.

I'll be there but Man City fans are usually very quiet, with it being the first game back since their take over and signing of Robinho i'm expecting them to be pretty loud.

Yeah Corluka is a physical beast and one of the smartest, most civil players out there. He's not quick but doesn't need to be, great ball control for the big man as well, he will be missed

Oh by now I agree, Chelsea were decent before they got Abramovich. City was half decent, but the owner knows nothing about football and someone else should be in charge of the signings, it'd be much more beneficial for the team (and really, the state of the League in general) if he kept himself out of these things and simply paid the check for whoever we need in the future. Robinho was a good signing but overall those sums of money for other players are ridiculous, I heard he's willing to spend over 30 million on 18 different players. Horrible.

Have fun at the game, there also will be an added number of City fans attending matches from now on. I'm not in Manchester right now but from what I've heard from family and such there have been an increase in City jerseys running around since the new owner came in and Robinho was signed. It'll certainly be different. It'll also be a bit bigger with City taking Robinho from right under Chelsea's noses and also getting Wright-Phillips back as well. I'm guessing there would be a bit more tension if this were at Stamford Bridge but there are certainly a lot of things going on here.

Why wasn't Cole started? He should ALWAYS play when fit. He's the rare player that actually gives a rat's *** about playing for England. Also, he's the creative spark that England need when Gerrard isn't playing.

I know. He looks like the only one right now who wants to play. He comes on and saves Capello the same thing McLaren faced last year. Well by about 6 minutes.

And, they dropped Beckham again. He atleast shows heart in an English shirt. Heskey looks happy to play again for England.

Anyways, 2 up and they stop chasing balls again.

So then...

Zola for West Ham manager?... what do we think?

Plus also, it's going to be very interesting indeed to see how Capello's England stand up to their first proper test tomorrow against Croatia... now we'll see what we are getting for our 6 million quid eh?... and please God, he won't play Beckham who is now just so totally shot and off the pace my Granny could beat him in a sprint ... and if Downing's role could please be restricted to, I dunno, cheering from the bench, I think we'd all appreciate it ... and if Gerrard could ever play in his proper position... I'll stop now I think!

God knows why anyone would want to go anywhere near West Ham.

The fans have to be the worst around, they boo EVERYONE, especially their own. Whoever takes the job needs looking at mentally.

Curbishley pulled them away from relegation when they looked doomed, he then got them to 10th last year, and this year he helped them to their best start in years. What do the fans do? Boo him and make his position untenable. Crazy.

Firstly, I think West Ham fans (rightly, I think, considering their traditions) have a certain expectation of stylish and dynamic football (think of the one and only Bobby Moore, and Martin Peters, and Trevor Brooking, and Alan Devonshire, and Paulo DeCanio, and the younger Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, etc, etc.) This contrasts with the more functional game that Curbishley seems to get his teams to play. And secondly, basically, I simply don't think they ever took to him or warmed to him. Undoubtedly though, they are a bloody hard lot to please.

Well, Curbishley was one of their own, he joined them as an apprentice after leaving school and played for them through the 1970's, you saw how they treated him.

As for Lampard and Cole, you do realise they both left because of the fans? Lampard had to put up with so much rubbish from them when he was a player there, he got abused by fans away from the ground and was pretty much on the verge of a breakdown from the constant abuse and taunts that he was only in the team because of his Dad and Uncle Harry.

Funny how he's turned out to be one of the greatest goal scoring midfielders in recent years, he could still be there now if it wasn't for all those idiotic fans and past players who used to make his life hell.

You do realise Frank Lampard Snr and the rest of the family, who were all West Ham fans through and through have turned their back on the club?

They're posion.

Good win by England today, let's hope they keep this up. Absolutely brilliant display from Walcott.

I just hope my boys in Red, White, and Blue can get another 3 points tonight against Trinidad and Tobago. COME ON YOU YANKS!

England were amazing. Croatia are one of the best teams in the world at the moment (although they were missing Eduardo and Kranjcar) but to destroy them at their own place was amazing.

Maybe Capello does know what he's doing afterall!

Yeah, I wondered why Kranjcar wasn't playing. He must be out with an injury or something, if he was fully fit I have no idea why he wouldn't be playing in a match of this caliber, he's an amazingly gifted playmaker when on form.

As for Capello, you're right, maybe he does know what he's doing! That'd be a first for England, no?

Yeah he's got an injury, although having said that, Rakitic who plays for Schalke and replaced him is also brilliant...

Someone rang up a phone in on tv last night and brought up how Italians and Spaniards don't really care about friendlies, but when it comes to the matches that matter, they always get it right. Looks like it could be true of our Italian

Capello is the most boring coach ever. All of his teams have been a pain to watch. That been said, he's a guarantee of success. Nobody understands whet he's doing, but at the end he's always right. I'll be very surprised if England doesn't do well in South Africa (unless they meet Spain in the way )

Yeah I agree, in the past they have been pretty dull.

Last night though England played some really pretty stuff! Walcott and Joe Cole down the wings, Rooney dropping off and threading balls through, Lampard was running things in midfield, Ashley Cole and Brown were great going forward.

God knows where the performance came from and it could well just be a one off but the 5th best team in the world couldn't get anywhere near us.

Ohhhhh man, what a weekend, I can hardly wait....
I never check this thread (or online sources) from the first game till Sunday night when I watch the highlight show (I like to see the highlights from games I didn't watch without knowing the result).
I like to wish everyone good luck, especially to Berbatov and also to Blackburn and Man City....
