I have seen several of these on the streets....and yeah....it would be my next car as well. I am not happy that the manual transmission is a $1k option....once upon a time it was the automatic that cost money.

My current car is an Infiniti G35 M6. It's top speed, electronically controlled according to Car & Driver, is 155. My top speed so far is 135.

If I lived in the US I would definitely have it.

My current car is a Ford Focus 1.8 Diesel ...it's a real POS. I had some substantial money problems in the not too distant past hence the "is it cheap?" choice.

Prior to that (3yrs ago) I had a Noble M12 GTO3. Giving that up was like giving up part of my soul. I've had various lovely cars over the last 5yrs or so but nothing made a*sholes revving their "Porsche/Ferarri/Pretty much anything" at the lights look so crestfallen 2seconds later as the Noble. It hurt my back on any normal road and made good use of my AA membership but for something built on an industrial estate in Leicester it was like it's seat was molded just for my behind.

Yessir...I understand.

Have you looked at the Challenger build options? They are fairly incredible. The one thing that gives me pause is the $5/gallon we had not too long ago. That would hurt. But.....6.1L 425 HP.....even the 5.7L has 372 HP.....

And the car looks pretty much exactly like the '72 in real life. I watched Vanishing Point back when it came out and coveted that car ever since. The new car is pretty much the same dimensions with a shorter overhang front and rear. You know, I always like the classic cars like the old MOPARs, but then again riding in them is a different story. Here, you have the best of both worlds....70's styling, classic MOPAR, and updated today performance.....

Come to think of it, I may have just talked myself into the 5.7L.....

I haven't really looked at it too closely I admit. If I did it would just hurt so I haven't yet. If I actually do get myself over to the US I'll be looking in some serious "which colour leather" type detail

The look of the car is what got me instantly too. Ronaldo above mentions the Camaro, it's sweet but it's "modernised" as a shape. The new Challenger almost looks like the old one reborn, it's faithful but somehow newer, faster, stronger. It's exactly like you say, it's the best of the old world and new.

I think I'm in love with it

Em, It's a Mini so, The UK originally.

I'm embarassed about my car now, since everyone's on about Nobles and Camaros :P

Looking to get myself a Cooper S later this year though.

Atlanta, Georgia USA and Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Here's a recent pic of the Atlanta assembly plant. Not a good thing.

Actually, Atlanta (and Chicago) Assembly made the Taurus/Sable for about 20 years. Atlanta was a relatively old plant having opened around 1947. Although Dearborn/Rouge Assembly plant is even older and it still operates, I believe.

Of late, the Thunderbird/Cougar was built outside of Cleveland (Lorain Assembly). That plant is also closed now, was sold to a real estate group and is currently being used to store excess supplies of Honda Accords made down the road in Marysville.

None of this is particularly good for the country. We had better wake up.

Mine is a Land Rover, which started in the UK. Then it went to Germany (Ford and BMW) and now to India (Tata). But I think overall it's a British car...

Still made in Great Britain under "JLR" (Jaguar Land Rover) a British manufacturer and owned by Tata Motors Ltd. of India. The sale frees up Ford (who lost billions with Jag/LR) to try and clean up its North American mess while cash-rich Tata will look to cut costs by--for starters--looking at some Indian-based 'supplier' companies.

I'd like to drive this hog:

One car is Japanese (06 Toyota Prius), and the other two are American (99 GMC Yukon XL and 08 Lexus (they are American, correct?) ES35).
