A possibility may be that he announced Monte Carlo participation really last minute so Nike didn't have time to get new shoes for him.

Hmmm I noticed this yesterday when I saw a picture of him in practice. Prolly he's not satisfied with the VI after 3 tournaments? Makes me really wonder though.

When he decide to get in the tornament ?? if you see the draw he have a WC next to his ranking , i don't understand why.. some body can explain that??

Well they've got the pale blue on aswell, so nike must have done them especially. Maybe additional support for the clay?

Well as far as I remember a week before the tournament. MC is a non-mandatory masters so top players are not required to commit to this tournament unlike the other masters event. As far as the WC is concern, Fed did not commit to this event before the start of the season hence he was not included in the main draw. Fed was offered a WC and accepted it so he has WC after his ranking.

I think Nike didn't have the right color way for his clay apparel (VI is Sterling blue) not including FO, this is I think the reason he has to use the Vapor V since it matches his apparel completely.

In that pic, look at Roger's left leg, he's wearing two pairs of socks.

Maybe for added comfort??

looks like the obsidian trim from the RG08 shoes, the light blue inside and heel match the new outfit, so i think it's a newly designed shoe.. I *really* hope they're bringing back the vapor V, i have a pair of the rg08 shoes and they're the best ever.. the VI has had so many problems, why not stop that line and bring back what works?

In all pictures of Fed I've seen of him this year he double-socked his right foot. Probably comfort. Why else?

That would be a marketing nightmare.
The VI definitely looks like it was rushed. The design is cool but functionally I've heard really bad things. Next version should be better.
