Default Shipping on Strings

I was going to order a couple of sets of string online, but I'm unsure of whether or not to order from TW because of shipping costs.
The other online store is offering discounted shipping at around $2 if you order 1-3 sets of string.
How much is shipping from TW?
If it's more expensive do you match shipping costs?

I ordered strings a few weeks ago and thought the $6 shipping charge was excessive for something that could be put in an envelope and mailed for whatever a stamp costs.

Each set of string inside its original packaging is around 2 ounces... how can it cost the same as a stamp??????

Not very people know about this, but you can call up TW and ask for cheaper shipping that comes at 2.99. I think it's called postal shipping...? Not quite sure what it's called, but it's pretty reliable, just a tad bit slower.

So, if you'll pardon my playing devil's advocate here...why exactly does TW not offer that shipping option standard...why is it only offered if someone asks?

*shrugs

That's a question for the TW people to answer. My guess would be that that particular method isn't the fastest of methods (gauranteed delivery in something like 4 weeks), and considering that most people need/want their equipment within a few days...
