being the OP of this thread, i must say it was very hard to part with my (2) PSLs. i'm now using two Head LM Rad MPs, but i miss my PSLs badly! i just didn't have the stamina and footwork to really put the PSL to good use.
but.... once the PSL GTs come out (which is very soon, from what i've heard), you can bet your ***** i'll be picking up two of those, AND two of the 1st generation! now if i could just lose 90 lbs,.....i'd be off the wagon again! oh,---have any of you guys tried the Head Speed Pro alongside the PSL? just wondering if there were any similarities.... |

i'm also currently teaching my wife and sister how to hit, so i needed something that could game with, but also feed balls without having to switch racquets. feeding balls with the PSL really sucked! i actually sold my frames to a couple of cool guys here on the TW boards. one thing i noticed, was that the frame actually needed some break-in time. i bought my first one long before my second and they never played the same, even though they were strung and gripped exactly the same. my backup was always stiffer than my 1st frame. weird, huh? |

This is not a racquet I hear of much but looks like there are supporters for it.

The more I play (which I think is important for sticks like this...), the more I love it. It swings so h-light, that I absolutely hammer serves.
I'm a righty, and I play (like most of us), mostly rightys.. I'm not afraid to hit that slice out wide do the FH and open up the court for a cc 2hbh, and I control the points if not winning it on my serve or a stupid mistake by me (quite possible). Just digging it more and more. One other poster a page or 2 back mentioned Lux BB Ace. I am using that in the mains (it's an 18g) and TF BiPhase 16 in the crosses. Best set up yet for me so far. The Ace feels great, almost makes me consider a full Ace set up. (can't do it though). Taking aggressive cuts.

question for the group: do you hit predominantly flat or spin groundies with PSL?
recently switched to PSL from POG...looking for more control. love it so far. a strong 5.0 player on my team had great success with PSL & hits a ton of spin (unfortunately i'm no 5.0). i have a fast swing that is flatter than my buddies. i figure it is easier to incorporate more spin with my current swing speed than learning to slow down my swing with more powerful spin oriented frames. thoughts? |

Well, a faster swing will produce more spin. I don't think intentionally slowing your swing is going to do you any good, unless your stroke is unsound to begin with. |

I just snapped my first string on with this frame today. I usually cut them out before one breaks but these finally gave.
I snapped a cross string which was a little odd to me. Do you guys normally break a cross or a main?

to anyone who gets their hands on a Pure Storm Ltd. GT, post your review here!
one cool thing about an updated PSL is..... the 1st gen will be cheaper! |

Just to say this racquet was a pleasant surprise. Other than swinging too early with my FH due to the difference of timing, this seems to feel the best with which I've hit among Babolats, even considering the off center hit twisting. Hitting backhands with it was a pleasure and the slice was quite nice.
Only if I get the FH to work better with it I'd commit to this one, not sure yet. |

I can't remember very well but the Speed Pro was too heavy. It also feels nothing like the PSL on contact.

My limits are because of my abilty and technique, not because of the PSL. It took me about two weeks of hitting with it until I was not conscious of it's extra weight over the Wilson I had been hitting with.

I'm hoping the new PSL GT will be more powerful. My hitting partner graduated to a player's frame (Pro Staff Classic 6.1) and I'm having trouble keeping up with the heaviness of his balls. (no pun intended)
