Do any men pros use oversize anymore?

Olivier Rochus, Vince Spadea using the POG OS. Can't think of any others.

Doesn't spadea, use a POG extended length, which has a 100 sq inch head, not a "true" OS head?

Regardless, I think with the huge glut in the market of 98 sq inch and 100 sq inch racquet, the need to go oversize just isn't there anymore. And, there isn't a lot of options for players wanting to play with an OS "players" racquet that is headlight and is fairly heavy.

I remember racquets like the Prince Spectrum Comp and Prince Graphite came in two sizes: 90 and 110 sq inches (later 93 and 107 square inches). That's a BIG difference. If the 90 didn't work out for you, the OS was a truly different option. Now with the huge "midplus" category of 98 and 100 sq inch frames, it's no wonder we see so few OS racquets.

They are not for everyone, but well-made, well-balanced, and fairly hefty OS racquets can play really great.

I still play with my Prince OS......been doing so (off and on) since the 110 days.......I just couldn't think of many pros that still do

No, Spadea still uses the Prince Original Graphite Oversize. It doesn't look to be anything more than regulation length, but I can't be 100% certain of that. Rochus was using an extended length 100sq Prince frame, not an OS. Can't think of anyone else (Seles used an OS, didn't she) and only a few in college tennis.

I do agree with your comments regarding the shift away from the OS. The racquet was designed to provide an enlarged sweetspot and, to a lesser extent, more power. Midplus racquets these days are able to offer all of those things but with more control and mobility.

Funny thing is, while I can happily use Midsize (93sq or less) or Oversize (107sq+) I don't like Midplus (95-105sq) racquets at all (with only one or two exceptions). I've kept trying to like them and have become enamoured of a few, for a short time but, after trying everything on the market, I'm ready to admit that they just aren't for me and I'm better off with an OS or a Mid.

Olivier Rochus uses the Michael Chang Graphite MidPlus Longbody.

I believe that's a misinterpretation from the interview with P1 on TW. Murray's Prestige Pro is standard size but that point of the interview with Nate Ferguson was a bit confusing. If I remember correctly, they were talking about his handle and not the hoop. There was a thread on it here earlier this year when the interview came out.

I believe Nate's talking about the "Head" shaped grip ( as opposed to the head shape) -more rectangular as opposed to more rounded like Bab or Wilson. I think he's just talking about building up the grip. Thanks for the link.

You do realise that an 'oversize' racquet is one that measures at least 105sq inches? Regardless of what P1 do to his racquet they sure as hell aren't making it that much bigger.

No. Santoro uses a PT57 that is 630cm2.

It's really tought to tell by looking at the television. Racquet heads seem much bigger on TV. Federer's 90 sq inch frame looks like any 98 sq inch frame when I'm viewing it in person. Maybe it's just me, but the TV makes racquets look bigger.
