Default Genesis Black Magic

What a great poly. It was easy to string and plays stiff like you expect a poly to, but this string pockets the ball really well and offers a level of comfort and control I've yet to experience in poly string.

I tried the 16g and crossed it with Gamma Synthetic 16. Very nice feel. Good touch on volleys and stiff enough to bang from the baseline.

Someone posted in another thread that a reel will retail for $85, any truth to this?

I sure as hell hope not, because I really enjoyed using this string and want to make the switch... but for $85 per reel? That's just a little too much right now.

Not for a set. Ha. That would be crazy. I think the post said $7.95 a set. The reel would really undercut the top poly's. Babolat PHT is like $215/reel and Tech Black Code is $170/reel. I'm curious to see how long BM will last. Tension retention seems good and they didn't move a whole lot.

You can't even buy sets from their website yet. I wonder when it's hitting retail shelves.

Thanks for the info.

It appears that booth have pretty decent characteristics. I'm not big on the spin generating strings. But if the SpinX feels like Black Magic there is an elasticity to the string that other ploys lack, unable to tell if it's a coating or what but it definitely gives the poly a unique feel. It feels slippery or slick but not smooth.

because TW already has a numerous variety of strings availble and adding this to their inventory won't tell others. There has been like 10 page discussion about this on the TW comment thread with pro supex products

I think sleepstream was referring to genesis not pro supex.

Yeah... I know all about pro supex.

I'm just used to seeing people ask TW to carry certain strings, and I am quite surprised not to see a thread pop up regarding this in the questions/comments section.

um i already know that... and what makes you think TW will get gensis products over pro supex? pro supex has probably been around more and offers more strings; therefore a bigger business. gensis has only 2 strings avaiable?

I have nbeen playing with the Spin-X (mains) and Gamma Professinal Crosses for about 8-10 hours now and am very much impressed with the Spin-X. I previously played with the Black Code. The Spin-X gives you slightly more spin, holds the tension better than the BC and does not move at all The power is great.

Very happy so far.

what makes you think to write such a post? Did I write that tw will carry genesis? No. Think before you write next time.

lolz i never said you said that tw will carry genesis, so i was explaining to Sleepstream why TW wouldn't carry genesis strings, and pro supex was an example of why they wouldn't.

If TW hosted Genesis I would definitely buy it. $85 a reel is just an incredible steal. Forget ALU Rough!
