Was it the fear of getting hit in the crotch?

first i want to say sorry for waking up ppl.

second i played like doo doo today. no serve. no groundstrokes. it was grea to meet xisbum finally though! despite what he says, his fashion sense is better than mine. also nice to see all the other mac members. for me especially it was a treat to hit with mrHan. i remember the last time and it was so long ago. hitting with him, he wasnt even trying. a few times he would take the short ball and crush it around 90mph. i wish i had video of it.

so topaz is the new sup

Since so many of you were so dazzled by my use of the list function (which I actually learned from Alice, BTW!), I shall summarize today's meet accordingly:
  • Zapvor not only showed, but he was ON TIME.
  • He also followed MrHan around like a puppy. Man crush!
  • Speaking of MrHan, I would like it be known that I did actually return one of his serves...once...into the court...that we were playing on. Let's not talk about the other serves, ok?
  • MrHan, what flavors cookies do I owe you?
  • Schmad and JRK played the 'heavies', and also the peacemakers since they played dubs with the guys on one of our courts, instead of kicking their arses off!
  • I had a very nice warmup with Shcmad.
  • And then played a set with Xisbum...he won 6-2, but jeez...that score could have been much closer if I wouldn't make stupid mistakes. Grrr. But very nice playing Xis...I was pooped after that. Don't let any of this 'knee injury' nonsense fool you...he was practically skipping from corner to corner on the court!
  • JRK and Xisbum made the most colorful doubles team ever in the history of the universe.
  • MrsJJJosh...one of these days you and I will actually get to play!
  • When I left (I called 'no mas' at 11:30 so I wouldn't be too tired for my match this afternoon)...Shcmad, Zap, JJJosh, and MrsJJJJosh were *still* playing!!! The energizer bunnies!
  • I lost my match, but played really well! Especially for me in doubles! I guess a two and a half warm up with TWMAC is going to have to be mandatory for all my matches!
  • Too bad Sup did not join us after teaching his ninja tennis clinic.
  • Did I miss anything?
  • Too bad.
  • I'm done.
  • This is the last bullet.
  • Oh, a few more...sorry no pictures, forgot the camera. Didn't think to ask Shcmad if he had his?
  • My back feels much better, but now both ankles hurt? I think I shall just no move for the rest of the evening! How about you?
  • Feel better soon PPL. I'm sure being assaulted by MrHan the last time you played had *nothing* to do with you not being able to come! Just kidding...take care of yourself!
  • Magma! Where were you? Everything ok? We missed you!
  • Ok, now I'm reaaaallly done.

Sup/Xisbum...can one of you put in our score from today? I have no clue as to my password on TennisEngine (keep trying what I thought it was, but it isn't working).

Xisbum defeated Topaz 6-2.

Edit...wow, that was quick.

^^^Was just entering the score after getting up from my nap. You know us old folks need our rest.

Can't think of a thing to add to your fabulous list, except it was "fun, fun, fun til her daddy took the T-Bird away."

Good to meet Zappy finally. Now I can say I know Sappy and Zappy. Good to hit a few with MrHan; glad I didn't have to attempt to return his serve. And he's a nice guy, too. As always, a pleasure teaming up with the JRK - call us the Mutt and Jeff team, please.

Always nice hitting with and against the JJJoshes - he has more shots in his bag than I've seen in my long, illustrious tennis career, and she can smack the ball with anyone. SchMad, you and I should play more dubs as a team; remember the volley is your friend, but it ain't a ground stroke.

What a wonderful way to spend an August Saturday morning. My only complaint - my beautiful pink shirt got heavy, hot and clingy after a while. Think I'll stick to sleeveless for the rest of the summer.

All hail the organizer extraordinaire, Lady Topaz. She will be an excellent nurse one day soon.

thank you for not hitting my new partner today in the crotch when I set her up a few times.

Topaz- thanks for organizing, you forgot to mention you not only returned one of Han's serves you also hit a hard forehand that he could not return at the net.

Shcmad, Zap and JRK- I hope to get to play a match with you guys again sometime, for some reason I always end up playing mixed doubles.

OH, that's right, I did! I think at that point I was just swinging for the fences!

I also forgot to mention trying to return MrHan's serve while eating a granola bar. I thought...hey, definitely won't hurt, and it could help!

You should at least try the Game; it's not that expensive and gives you a feel for the ASICS cushioning. I like it fine, but the Res2 has just a tad more cushioning and a different sole pattern that - to me - really digs into hard courts. I think the Game sole pattern might be a tad better on clay.

Good hitting today, partner, with both touch and power. I envy your power, I really do.

You almost looked as good in the pink polo as I did. Almost.

I was going to wear my new sleeveless JMDP outfit today, but I figured my chances of wearing the pink at the same time as TheJRK or Xisbum was too slight not to take a chance.

And TheJRK finally put a hair product in his hair. I barely recognized him.. or his game. He was hitting well with that Prince. Is he going to pull the trigger?

would have driven less today if i'd gone to va to play tennis. but my dad wanted to go to rock hall, md (google and weep for me, everyone) for crabs. since my dad rarely, like never, wants to go anywhere, i humored him. oh my gawwwwwwd. 3.5 f***ing hours to get there because of bay bridge traffic.

but!!! i was rewarded: we stopped at an outlet mall on the way back (don't know where--somewhere between the end of the continental US and home), and i scooped up a stella top for...$10! i was in a euphoric daze the rest of the way home.

have to go to bed nownownow: i was coerced into playing mixed doubles tomorrow morning at 8 am. they don't know what they're asking of me...

Good hittin' everyone! Nice to see some familiar old faces today.

-Toepeezy, you hit some nice winners during the warm-up. I think this is the first time that a player beats another player during a warm-up.

-Mr. and Mrs. JJjosh, thanks for driving all the way down to VA. A shame that we couldn't play a real match, but hitting afterward was nice. Mr. JJjosh, I swear you look like a 15 y/o.

-TheJerk, that Thai guy's voice was annoying me the whole time during the doubles match. I blame my poor play on his voice. LOL.

-Xis, believe it or not, I "try" to not take huge cuts at the ball when I'm at net. LOL.

-PPL, it's OK. I know how scary it is to think getting hit in the crotch by one of my backhands. Kidding. Hope you feel better.

-Sup, what do you mean by "teach shcmad"?
