jjosh (other MD peeps) I can meet you at the courts at UMD tonight if you want. Looking to hit around 7pm-ish........
Wish I could, JRS. Still in shock from the shellacking my young Reston friend gave me yesterday - 2 and 1, and it wasn't that close. My serve went to Brazil, my backhand went to Argentina and my usually reliable forehand went all over the place - except where I wanted it to go.

Having a midlife tennis crisis I am, and find a way out I must. Tonight is rest and reflection night.

Can you get out Saturday morning if I get something set up?

Cool. Is 9 a.m. Saturday too early for you? And do you prefer Wakefield Park or some other place? If Wakefield works, I'll get the courts reserved; I'm assuming others will join once they see the Surfer Dude is on board.

Looks like CindySphinx and I will be meeting at Reston's Lake Newport courts Friday morning at 10. We could have a special "surprise" guest, too.

Both of you are welcome to join us, if it's convenient.

Saturday tennis is a tough thing to pull for me now days. Tennis has been relegated to weekday evenings.

JRK, we'll see. Fridays are usually Family night. Thursday is a possibility I should know by Tuesday night.

Nah Puma is pretty sweet. much better than Adidas.

The whole reason PUMA is even around is because Rudolf Dassler had an argument with his brother and decided the company sucked and we wanted to start his own. So Rudolf Dassler started PPUMA leaving his brother Adolf (ADI) DASsler to start adidas

Puma is actually the german word for cougar. Which leads me to believe that Rudolf Dassler was a real ladies man

i had to look up canadian doubles are well.. upon further reading, it seems that the closer you get to china the more ppl you shove on the same court. so my estimation for chinese doubles would consist of 100 ppl in one service box serving to 90ppl in the other service box while everything else is considered out

Quote:
Canadian Doubles: A method of playing tennis where two players play against one player. The only major rule variation between Canadian Doubles and traditional Doubles Tennis is that the team of two players can only hit the ball within the single player's singles lines. Canadian Doubles is usually used strictly as a training method, usually working on accuracy and teamwork.[1] It is also used when one player is significantly better than the other two.

Filipino Doubles: Another variation of Canadian doubles is known as Filipino doubles. It is somewhat like Canadian Doubles in the sense that it is not "normal" doubles. Instead, it is 3 players versus 2 players.

Albino Doubles: Further sub categories of doubles include albino doubles, which pits 4 players against 3, with the first team to reach 11 games the winner.

A co-worker of mine has an extra ticket for the Yankees-Orioles game tonight if anyone is interested... I think he said $70, they are 15 rows up from 1st base. Someone bailed on him last minute so he's asking around. He's from NY and a really cool guy (except for being a Yankees fan). It's him and 2 other guys I work with that are going.

Post here if you are interested.
