Do, or do not. There is no try.

Maxim touch with regular gut, right?

Yes, I had PSGD in both of mine, just different colors.

TWMAC stringing experts -

My friend wants to try some Blue Gear that I have at home. I have a whole reel, so I don't mind cutting him some so he can try it out.

I want to make sure that he has enough string so the guy who strings his rackets has enough to work with AND also avoid any mistakes that might waste string.

Soooooooo.......

-How much should I cut for my friend?
-How much extra should I add on (let's say he needs X feet of string, should I add 3 feet more to make sure the string has enough for tie offs etc.)
-Any other newbie things I should avoid?

Thanks.

Let me know what racquet he has and I'll tell you what USRSA recommends to cut.

-or-

40 feet and if he screws up all of TWMAC gets one serve of butts up at him.. from the service line!

Any advice? Measure twice, cut once and be sure to roll it up nicely for him so it doesn't get tangled up.

Well, I was thinking of playing a tournament this weekend, but after doing my bills...decided on a big, fat 'no'. (srsly, why so expensive?)

So, put me down for Saturday! Xisbum, you want a rematch? JRK, you want to finish our set?

head.com has the required string measurements for all their models, so maybe check online for your friend's racquet's specs? ...of course, i am the original poster child for "How To F*** Up Your Racquet In 4 Easy Steps," so whatever. in fact, i left behind my cursed racquet on the court after playing last week. again.

x, i'm sorry for myself that i can't play doubles with you & cindy & magma. but i have to play ladder matches at my club all week. i'm actually sitting on top of my club's singles ladder (i know, i know. take all the time you need to laugh...to give you an idea of the level of "play": i had to explain to one of my opponents how 40-40 is often called "deuce" in tennis. really.). so i have to respond to challanges this week. because if i refuse, i have to forfeit my spot.

Striker. I would say do what Han said. 40 feet will just about everything but a big bubba. Alot of string packs now are 39 feet. so somewhere around there and yul be fine.

LOL!!!!! I don't think he does his own stringing, but I want to give him a taste of BG since he broke his Gamma rough the last time we played.

Good idea. I think it's a Wilson though. I'll have to find out which one.

"Often" called deuce? You got some more 'splainin' to do, Lucy.

We'll miss you, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Take care of that ladder, and we'll catch ya next time around, podnah.
