I just watched the McEnroe/Borg 1980 US Open final. Mac was playing with that Wilson racquet with the white throat (and 2 black diamonds?). Was that the Wilson Advantage? Or the Jack Kramer? (Nice to see Kramer, Budge and other greats in the crowd.)

Mac used the Jack Kramer. I used the Advantage, it was all black with fancy pinstripes of gold. Mmmmm.... now that was a great racket, but it was not considered a player's racket. It was a good prestigious club racket.
I wish I had an Advantage now, I want to use it just for memories. I now have the Prince EXO Rebel after a long, long history of Prince rackets. |
